Michael Knowles to Testify Before Senate on Left-Wing Political Violence

In a long-overdue move to address the escalating wave of left-wing political violence sweeping the country, Daily Wire host Michael Knowles will testify before the U.S. Senate Judiciary Subcommittee on the Constitution next week.

At the invitation of Senator Eric Schmitt (R-MO), Knowles will speak at a hearing titled “Politically Violent Attacks: A Threat to Our Constitutional Order” on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at 2:30 p.m. ET. The hearing comes in the wake of multiple violent incidents targeting conservative voices including Knowles himself.

“A ‘free marketplace of ideas’ simply cannot exist when ideological bandits keep shooting up the marketplace,” Knowles said. “This recent uptick in left-wing violence is the culmination of years really decades of consistent assaults on their opponents.”

Knowles, who regularly speaks at college campuses, was attacked by left-wing agitators during a 2023 speech at the University of Pittsburgh, where Antifa-aligned protesters hurled smoke bombs and threats in an attempt to shut down the event. Several perpetrators have since been sentenced to years in prison, but the underlying threat continues.

His testimony follows a series of unmistakable escalations in politically motivated violence, including:

• The assassination of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk, a national tragedy that sent shockwaves through the conservative movement

• Two assassination attempts on President Donald Trump, which received suspiciously muted media coverage

• Ongoing harassment and threats aimed at conservative speakers and commentators nationwide

Knowles’s upcoming appearance is expected to be a landmark moment, one where the Senate will be forced to confront the undeniable truth: the modern left has normalized political violence against anyone who dares to think differently.

Senator Schmitt didn’t mince words. “The rise of political violence on the left is deeply disturbing… It is a threat to our constitutional order,” he said in a statement.

The contrast could not be clearer. While the legacy media continues to obsess over “right-wing extremism,” they remain virtually silent about:

• Campus mobs that shut down free speech

• Radical protesters who threaten conservative events

• Elected Democrats who openly incite hostility against their opponents

Meanwhile, Knowles who delivered remarks at Charlie Kirk’s memorial tour stop just days after the funeral was met with leftist activists chanting “Michael Knowles has got to go” and waving signs mocking Kirk’s death. That’s not dissent that’s hatred weaponized.

Knowles has long sounded the alarm about this growing threat, calling out the double standards that allow far-left radicals to act with impunity while law-abiding conservatives are vilified for defending truth.

“We’re witnessing the collapse of civil discourse and it’s not by accident,” Knowles warned. “It's being encouraged and enabled by those who want to control speech, punish dissent, and eliminate opposition."
