Media Slammed for Double Standard on Elon Musk and Cory Booker Gestures

Critics call out blatant hypocrisy after Musk faced “Nazi salute” smear while Booker’s nearly identical wave gets a media pass.

It didn’t take long for the mainstream media’s hypocrisy to be exposed again.

This time, it’s over two nearly identical hand gestures. One made by Elon Musk at a Trump Inauguration Day rally. The other by Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) at a California Democrats event. But only one of them was labeled a “Nazi salute” and smeared relentlessly by legacy media.

Elon Musk, who placed his hand over his heart and extended his right arm to a cheering crowd, was attacked by multiple outlets and even questioned by a U.S. Senator during a January hearing. MSNBC and PBS ran with the smear, while Democrats fanned the flames of the baseless comparison.

Meanwhile, Booker’s mirror-image wave to a Democratic crowd barely made a ripple. The media that hyperventilated over Musk’s gesture have now gone mysteriously silent.

The double standard wasn’t lost on conservative leaders:

  • Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) slammed the press: “The mainstream media is totally corrupt... Americans see thru this obvious and destructive double standard.”

  • Steve Guest, a former GOP communications official, asked: “Will the media respond the same way to Cory Booker waving to the crowd... or was it all just performative nonsense when Elon did it?”

  • Piers Morgan chimed in: “Neither is [a Nazi], but the hypocrisy stinks.”

Even Musk weighed in, calling the press “hypocrites” and labeling legacy media “one big psy op.”

And he’s not wrong. The media’s reaction to Musk was a coordinated attempt to smear one of the most influential non-leftist figures in the tech world a man who has championed free speech, exposed censorship collusion between government and Big Tech, and recently supported Trump’s return to the White House.

Booker’s team responded by dismissing the comparison altogether, saying “anyone who claims his wave is the same as Elon Musk’s gesture is operating in bad faith.” But the footage speaks for itself.

Let’s be clear: neither gesture was a Nazi salute. And that’s the point.

The real story here isn’t about hand movements. It’s about a corporate media class that applies outrage based on political affiliation, not facts.

Musk gets smeared because he dares to challenge the system. Booker gets a pass because he reinforces it. And the media? They keep proving they aren’t journalists they’re enforcers.

Americans aren’t fooled. They’re waking up and they’re done playing by the Left’s rigged rules.
