Military Bases See Boost in Security as Marines Join Forces with ICE

In a powerful and long-overdue move to reinforce America’s military readiness, the U.S. Marine Corps has teamed up with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to launch a bold pilot program at three critical military installations Camp Pendleton in California, Quantico in Virginia, and Marine Corps Base Hawaii.

This initiative, kept under the radar until recently, is designed to amplify threat awareness and prevent unauthorized access especially from foreign nationals exploiting our lax border and immigration systems. According to the Pentagon, the goal is to enhance "visibility, coordination, and threat awareness at critical access points and in surrounding areas."

Why now?

The decision follows a series of chilling incidents:

• In May 2024, two Jordanian nationals attempted to breach Quantico in a box truck. One was an illegal alien, the other a student with a revoked visa.

• Over 100 Chinese nationals have tried to infiltrate U.S. military installations, according to a Wall Street Journal report.

• Unauthorized drone flights and surveillance attempts have been reported near key defense sites.

These aren’t isolated events they're warnings. And while the Biden administration continues to let our southern border hemorrhage with record-setting illegal crossings over 6 million since 2021 our military has had no choice but to fortify its own perimeters.

This is a national security issue, not just a border issue.

Yet, not everyone is on board. Some, like a University of Tampa professor, expressed concern that Marines are being overshadowed. But let’s be honest this isn't about pride, it’s about protecting our forces and our country from the very threats that the White House continues to ignore.

This program marks a shift toward realistic, defensive measures in a world where our adversaries are watching closely and testing our limits daily. If our federal government won’t secure the homeland, the Marines will take matters into their own hands and ICE will be right there beside them.
