Autopsy Reveals Drug Combination in Liam Payne After Deadly Fall

911 calls show hotel staff feared for the singer’s life before his tragic death.

Liam Payne, former member of the boy band One Direction, tragically died after falling from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on October 16. Payne, who was just 31 years old, reportedly had a mix of drugs in his system at the time of the fatal incident, according to a partial autopsy report.

Sources told ABC News that toxicology results revealed the presence of several substances, including "pink cocaine," a dangerous drug cocktail made up of methamphetamine, ketamine, and MDMA. The report also found crack cocaine and benzodiazepines in Payne’s system, along with paraphernalia commonly used for ingesting drugs.

The shocking fall occurred at the CasaSur Palermo Hotel, where Payne’s body was found in the hotel courtyard after plummeting three stories. Local authorities have classified the cause of death as “multiple trauma” from the fall, which caused both internal and external bleeding, Associated Press reported.

The grim details of Payne’s final hours have slowly emerged, including several frantic 911 calls made by hotel staff moments before the singer’s fall. Transcripts reveal staff members were deeply concerned about Payne’s erratic behavior, believing he was heavily under the influence of drugs and alcohol.

A La Nacion translation of the calls shows that hotel staff described the guest as "trashing the entire room" and repeatedly pleaded for emergency responders. One staff member told the 911 operator, “We need you to send someone, please. He’s destroying the entire room.” Another worried that Payne’s “life may be in danger,” as they feared he could fall from the balcony.

Payne first gained international fame after appearing on The X Factor in 2008 and again in 2010, when he joined forces with Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan, and Louis Tomlinson to form One Direction. The band achieved global success before splitting in 2016, with each member embarking on solo careers. Payne’s sudden death has left fans and the entertainment world in shock, as many remember him for his talent and charisma.

Payne’s body will remain in Argentina until the full autopsy is completed. His tragic death is a devastating reminder of the pressures and dangers that can accompany fame, particularly when substance abuse is involved.
