As Global Crises Loom, Leftists Focus Intensely on WNBA Issues

As we swirl rapidly down into the hurly-burly, upsy-daisy, stinky-dinky of the American political season, it’s worth taking a moment to refresh our souls at the fountain of compassion. Let’s consider walking a mile in our opponents’ shoes and then hiding them, leaving our opponents to hop around barefoot in the mess they’ve created on our city streets, which would only serve them right.

With the world on the brink of chaos, leftists are facing a significant problem. Iran is finalizing a nuclear arsenal funded by the billions sent to them by Barack Obama and Joe Biden. China is strengthening its Navy, rapidly outstripping an American military strangled by Democrat funding cuts and distracted by left-wing social experiments. Meanwhile, Russia continues its destruction of Ukraine, bolstered by the slow-walked American aid that has allowed Putin to regroup. Amidst all this, left-wingers in our country are growing increasingly concerned about the WNBA.

You might wonder, "What is the WNBA?" or "Who cares?" But for leftists, the rise of superstar player Caitlin Clark on some girls’ team has given them a reason to pretend to care about women’s basketball. Clark's emergence has left them in a dilemma: why didn’t they pretend to follow the game when all the most talented players were black? If a black player fouls Clark by smacking her in the head, should leftists side with Clark, the reason they’re watching, or the black player, to avoid being labeled racist?

Adding to the confusion is the issue of trans athletes. If Lia Thomas can compete in women’s sports, why didn’t leftists support women’s basketball sooner so women players could be paid the same as men? The answer lies in the fact that the men’s game is more entertaining, and ticket sales reflect that.

If a black man were playing in the WNBA and fouled Clark, causing her to be replaced by another black man, the entire WNBA could be populated by black men, making the games worth watching. This scenario would satisfy leftists by supporting black people, trans people, and women’s sports, which would finally rise to the level of men’s sports by being played by men.

This convoluted logic perfectly encapsulates the absurd priorities of the left. While they focus on making a spectacle of women’s basketball, the real threats—China, Russia, and Iran—loom large, poised to exploit every weakness created by Democrat incompetence.

So, as the leftists grapple with their tangled web of social justice, the rest of us can only watch as they dance around the real issues, leading us ever closer to global catastrophe.
