Leavitt Slams Democrats for Fueling Anti-ICE Violence in Minneapolis
White House Press Secretary says radical rhetoric from Walz and Frey is inciting chaos and endangering lives.

The Biden years taught us what Democrat “leadership” really looks like chaos, lawlessness, and open hostility to law enforcement. Now, under President Trump’s return to real leadership, the cleanup effort is underway. But in places like Minneapolis, it’s clear the Left still hasn’t learned a thing.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt didn’t hold back Monday as she torched Minnesota Democrats for inciting violence against federal immigration officers. Her message was clear: the bloodshed on Minneapolis streets lies at the feet of Governor Tim Walz and Mayor Jacob Frey.
“You have elected Democrat officials across the country who are encouraging left-wing agitators and crazy people to go out and unlawfully obstruct lawful immigration enforcement,” Leavitt said in a fiery briefing.
Tensions in Minnesota have hit a boiling point following the deaths of two individuals involved in confrontations with federal immigration officers. Both Renee Good and Alex Pretti were killed after interfering with or charging toward ICE and Border Patrol agents situations that should’ve never happened if local leaders were upholding the law instead of demonizing it.
Instead, we get outrageous rhetoric. Walz compared illegal aliens to Anne Frank, suggesting ICE operations are comparable to Nazi atrocities. It’s a grotesque, historically ignorant comparison that’s not just offensive it’s dangerous.
Frey, no better, accused federal immigration officers of “terrorizing our communities,” while refusing to cooperate with ICE operations meant to remove murderers, rapists, pedophiles, and traffickers from the streets of Minnesota.
Leavitt rightfully placed the blame where it belongs:
Walz and Frey’s inflammatory comments have emboldened radical agitators to obstruct federal agents.
ICE agents are being compared to the Gestapo, inciting hatred and distrust toward law enforcement.
The lawlessness in Minneapolis is fueled directly by Democrat officials who refuse to assist in deporting violent criminals.
According to DHS, Pretti was not only carrying a firearm but had multiple magazines and no ID at the time he was shot after resisting arrest. In a separate incident, Good was shot after she allegedly attempted to ram an ICE agent with her car. These weren’t misunderstandings they were dangerous, unlawful actions stoked by anti-ICE propaganda from elected Democrats.
Leavitt made it clear: if Minnesota law enforcement would cooperate with ICE, President Trump is willing to pull federal immigration officers from the streets. But as long as sanctuary city policies remain in place, the feds will do what local officials refuse to protect American citizens from criminal illegal aliens.
Even as Trump spoke with Walz in what was described as a “productive” call, the broader issue remains. Sanctuary policies, radical Democrat rhetoric, and the media’s relentless lies are putting both law enforcement officers and communities at risk.
The White House is standing firm. America deserves laws that are enforced, criminals who are deported, and leadership that doesn’t bow to far-left mobs.
