YouTuber Lauren Southern Alleges Sexual Assault by Andrew Tate

YouTuber claims Tate choked her unconscious after a night out in Romania, echoing similar allegations from past cases.

Canadian YouTuber and political commentator Lauren Southern has accused Andrew Tate of sexual assault, detailing the disturbing allegations in a newly released chapter from her self-published memoir This Is Not Real Life. The chapter, posted for free on Substack, describes events from 2018 when Southern was 22 years old and met Tate during a trip to Romania.

The excerpt describes an unsettling sequence that began with a business meeting involving Southern, British activist Tommy Robinson, and the Tate brothers Andrew and Tristan. Southern says what was supposed to be a pitch to crypto investors quickly turned into a dangerous situation.

According to her account, after a failed meeting at a lavish compound, Southern was encouraged to return alone under the impression that the project might still move forward. But what followed, she says, was a night where she was manipulated, drugged, and ultimately assaulted by Andrew Tate.

“My body wasn’t listening to me. The world was dimming... Eventually, I found myself crawling onto a couch at the back of the club,” Southern wrote.
“Andrew was there again, lifting me up... He carried me back to the hotel room... He kissed me. I wasn’t expecting it... He wanted to go further. I said no, very clearly, multiple times... He put his arm around my neck and began strangling me unconscious.”

Southern alleges that she tried to fight back each time she regained consciousness, but Tate repeatedly choked her. She said she later visited a women’s hospital and filed a report, five years before similar accusations against Tate surfaced in a 2023 Vice News investigation, which reported that Tate had allegedly used the same strangulation method on multiple women in the U.K.

Tate, through his attorney, vehemently denied the allegations, calling Southern’s story “pathetic filth” and accusing her of exploiting his notoriety to promote her book. His legal team insisted there was “no evidence” and labeled the free release of the chapter as a “marketing ploy.”

But Southern rebuffed that claim, asserting that she refused to put the chapter behind a paywall precisely because she didn’t want the incident to be perceived as a sales tactic.

“They were written because they’re part of my story, and they’re true,” she stated. “If you’re here just to read about Tate or think this is some kind of selling point, please don’t buy the book.”

She also claims that others have already begun to spread “distorted” versions of her story in an effort to discredit other witnesses or delegitimize cases of abuse and trafficking.

Southern’s account adds to a growing list of serious accusations against Tate, who is already under legal scrutiny for sex trafficking and rape charges in Romania. His past includes a 2015 arrest in the U.K. for rape and abuse, cases that ultimately did not result in prosecution, but nonetheless paint a troubling picture when viewed alongside consistent allegations from multiple women.

Southern says she finally chose to speak publicly because the incident had already been twisted and weaponized against other accusers.

“I cannot remain silent when my story is being twisted and used as a tool to discredit others.”

Whether or not this leads to further legal action remains to be seen, but one thing is clear: Southern’s testimony further complicates Andrew Tate’s already explosive legal and public image battles.
