Kash Patel shuts down Democrats over Epstein files
FBI Director refuses to break federal law as Raskin grandstands on Epstein cover-up.

FBI Director Kash Patel wasn’t having it.
During a fiery exchange at Tuesday’s House Judiciary Committee hearing, Patel went head-to-head with Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD), who tried to corner him into releasing sealed documents tied to the late Jeffrey Epstein despite multiple court orders explicitly barring their release.
The hearing turned into a political circus when Raskin, a key figure in Trump’s second impeachment and a staunch Democrat operative, accused Patel of protecting Epstein’s powerful network. His real aim? To paint Trump and his appointees as complicit, even as Democrats themselves ignored the Epstein scandal for years.
“You were sworn in as director more than 200 days ago,” Raskin pressed. “Now the Black Book is under your direct control. So why haven’t you released the names of Epstein’s co-conspirators?”
Patel’s response was clear and powerful:
“I’m not going to break the law to satisfy your curiosity.”
He reminded the committee that:
Multiple federal court orders restrict what can be disclosed.
Epstein’s sweetheart deal happened under Barack Obama’s DOJ, which failed to act for over a decade.
Not one Democrat, including Raskin, joined Patel’s legal filings seeking lawful unsealing of redacted materials.
“Did Comey release the files? Did Wray? Has anyone released more than I have?” Patel asked pointedly.
Raskin, ignoring the legal boundaries, continued to push. “That’s a tiny fraction of the material we’re talking about,” he claimed, suggesting Patel was withholding information.
Patel didn’t flinch:
“How do you know that? Have you seen everything?”
Democrats like Raskin have suddenly found a renewed interest in Epstein’s criminal network but only now that Donald Trump is leading in the polls. Convenient. For years, the left had no interest in pursuing justice for Epstein’s victims. In fact, it was Bill Clinton who took over 26 documented flights on Epstein’s infamous jet and yet not a word from House Democrats when they had full control.
Even more hypocritical, many on the left were silent when Epstein received his first wrist-slap plea deal in 2008 a deal orchestrated under a Democrat-run DOJ. Now that Epstein is dead and the political winds have shifted, they want to feign outrage and pin it on Trump-era officials like Patel.
Here’s the truth: Kash Patel is doing what previous FBI directors refused to do push for transparency, while still respecting the law. Unlike his predecessors, Patel isn’t protecting anyone. He’s doing it by the book, even when Democrats try to turn it into a media stunt.
If Raskin and his Democrat colleagues are truly interested in justice, they could join Patel in court to lift the legal blocks. But they won’t because grandstanding on TV is easier than taking real action.
