Karoline Leavitt Dismisses NYT Reporter’s Elon Musk Inquiry

White House Press Secretary Exposes Media’s Hypocrisy On Ethics Concerns.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt wasted no time dismantling a loaded question from New York Times reporter Maggie Haberman on Wednesday, shutting down yet another attempt by the corporate media to manufacture controversy around President Donald Trump’s administration.

During the White House press briefing, Haberman pushed a narrative about Elon Musk, who is leading the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) project, insinuating that Trump’s administration may be allowing ethical violations. But Leavitt quickly dismissed the premise, making it clear that Musk is in full compliance with all legal and ethical requirements.

Haberman tried to corner Leavitt by referencing an unspecified “conflict of interest law,” claiming Musk’s role required Trump to sign a waiver and suggesting the administration should release it.

Leavitt didn’t take the bait.

“I have not seen the law that you are referring to,” she fired back. “What I can tell you is that Elon Musk, as I’ve confirmed before, is a special government employee. He is filing the proper financial disclosure and he is complying with all applicable federal laws.”

Leavitt then reminded the press that Musk had already addressed these concerns publicly, noting that his work with the administration is transparent and above board.

What’s truly remarkable is how quickly the media has pivoted to “ethics” concerns now that Trump is back in office. Where was this level of scrutiny when Hunter Biden was raking in millions from foreign entities while his father was vice president and later president? Where was the outrage when top Biden officials openly colluded with Big Tech to censor Americans?

The truth is, this latest media outrage isn’t about ethics it’s about their fear of Trump’s America First agenda and their desperation to derail his administration.

Musk’s role in the Department of Government Efficiency is exactly what the country needs someone who understands how to cut through waste, optimize operations, and push back against the bloated bureaucratic machine that Washington elites love so much.

Leavitt made it clear: if Trump sees a real conflict, he will handle it directly. Unlike the Biden administration, where corruption ran unchecked, Trump holds his team accountable.

The media’s attempt to stir up another controversy fell flat once again. And with Leavitt at the podium, it’s clear they’re going to have a tough time spinning their false narratives.
