Karine Jean-Pierre Quits Democrats After Years Defending Biden
After fiercely pushing Biden’s radical agenda, former press secretary abandons party amid growing fractures.

In a stunning political turn, former Biden White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre has officially walked away from the Democratic Party, announcing that she is now an Independent. After spending over two years fiercely defending President Joe Biden’s disastrous policies and radical agenda, Jean-Pierre’s sudden departure underscores the deepening fractures inside the Democratic Party as America reels from years of failed leadership.
In June, Jean-Pierre announced her decision alongside the release of her new book, Independent. The press release accompanying the announcement stated, "Our country has become obsessed with blind loyalty to a two-party democratic system," and detailed how betrayal from within the Democratic Party ultimately pushed her to abandon the party entirely.
Jean-Pierre's departure comes after she spent years championing some of the most controversial positions of the Biden administration, including:
Defending the open border crisis: Jean-Pierre repeatedly attacked the Trump administration's successful border security policies, falsely claiming, "The border is not open," even as millions of illegal migrants poured across the southern border. Under Biden, over 8 million illegal crossings have been recorded an unprecedented surge that has fueled crime, drug trafficking, and national security concerns.
Denouncing the Supreme Court's Dobbs decision: Following the 2022 ruling overturning Roe v. Wade, Jean-Pierre called the decision "extreme" and claimed it put "women's lives at risk," aligning herself with the left's radical abortion agenda.
Pushing transgender policies: As Biden’s White House celebrated transgender activism, Jean-Pierre regularly slammed state-level legislation protecting girls' sports and banning child gender surgeries, labeling such efforts as "hateful" and "unacceptable."
Escalating dangerous political rhetoric: Even after multiple assassination attempts against Donald Trump, Jean-Pierre continued parroting the administration’s narrative, calling Trump a “threat to democracy” while refusing to acknowledge the danger her rhetoric created. In a heated exchange with Fox News’ Peter Doocy, she dismissed concerns that the White House's words were contributing to political violence.
Her sudden break from the Democrats came after Biden’s decision to abandon his 2024 re-election bid, which Jean-Pierre claims was driven by betrayal from party leadership. The internal collapse within the Democratic Party has been no secret, as infighting, far-left policies, and Biden’s visible mental decline have shattered confidence even among loyal insiders.
Jean-Pierre served as Biden’s mouthpiece from May 2022 through January 2025, standing at the forefront of some of the most divisive moments in modern American politics. But now, as the Democratic Party continues to crumble under the weight of its own radicalism, even one of Biden's staunchest defenders has seen enough.
Her departure reflects a growing sentiment among Americans disillusioned by years of Democrat failures from the wide-open border and violent crime surges to reckless spending and attacks on constitutional freedoms. As President Trump surges toward victory in 2024, many former allies of Biden’s regime are beginning to jump ship, sensing the political reckoning that lies ahead.
