Kamala Harris Aide Claims Biden Audio Blunder Is Good for Democrats

Ashley Etienne, former communications director for Kamala Harris, offered a bizarre defense Sunday of the newly released Robert Hur interview audio, claiming the clearly damaging clip of Joe Biden struggling to remember basic facts is somehow “good for the Democratic Party.”

Appearing on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” Etienne floated the theory that the release of the audio in which Biden forgets when his son died and when he left office was a distraction by President Trump to shift attention away from his booming start to his second term.

“This is good for Joe Biden,” Etienne claimed, ignoring the nationwide embarrassment sparked by Biden’s halting, meandering answers. “We can dispense with this now and not closer to the midterm election.”

The mental gymnastics on display were stunning. Etienne didn’t even bother to refute the content of the audio which reinforced Hur’s earlier report that Biden appeared as “a well-meaning elderly man with a poor memory.” Instead, she insisted it was good for Democrats because it might fade from the headlines before the midterms.

This is how far Democrat operatives are willing to go to spin disaster into opportunity:

• The audio clearly confirms Biden’s cognitive decline, long denied by the White House and the media.

• Democrats were caught flat-footed, having insisted for months that Hur’s report was misleading or partisan.

“If we were to [produce] an autopsy, we can reconcile, coalesce, speak with one voice, and move past it,” Etienne added, as if party unity could erase what the American people heard with their own ears.

This spin isn’t damage control it’s willful gaslighting. Etienne and her fellow operatives know the audio is devastating. They know Biden's approval is cratering. They know his physical and cognitive deterioration is no longer deniable, even among Democrat voters. But instead of confronting reality, they’re doubling down on delusion.

Meanwhile, the Biden team has gone radio silent, hoping media allies will memory-hole the story just like they did with Hunter’s laptop and the Afghanistan collapse. But this time, it won’t work.

The truth is, Biden’s decline is no longer a partisan debate it’s a national security concern. And voters can see it clearly now.

If Democrats think they can spin senility into a campaign asset, they’re more out of touch than we thought.
