Obama-Appointed Judge Blocks Trump Deportation of Tren de Aragua Terrorists

In a shocking and reckless move, an Obama-appointed judge has once again put the safety of Americans behind the interests of violent foreign criminals. On Saturday, U.S. District Judge James Boasberg issued an outrageous order halting President Donald Trump’s deportation of Tren de Aragua gang members, forcing planes mid-flight to turn back and return to the U.S.

These are not innocent migrants. Tren de Aragua is a notorious Venezuelan prison gang responsible for heinous crimes, including murder, human trafficking, drug smuggling, and terrorizing communities across the Americas. President Trump, recognizing the threat, correctly designated them as foreign terrorists and invoked the Alien Enemies Act of 1798 to expedite their removal from American soil.

But Judge Boasberg disagreed, granting a temporary 14-day hold on Trump’s deportation efforts, even applying it to planes already airborne. "Any plane containing these folks that is going to take off or is in the air needs to be returned to the United States however that is accomplished," Boasberg ruled.

Attorney General Pam Bondi minced no words in her response "Tonight, a DC trial judge supported Tren de Aragua terrorists over the safety of Americans. This order disregards well-established authority regarding President Trump’s power, and it puts the public and law enforcement at risk."

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt echoed this sentiment, issuing a firm statement "President Donald J. Trump signed a Proclamation Invoking the Alien Enemies Act regarding the Invasion of the United States by the Foreign Terrorist Organization Tren De Aragua, using his core powers as President and Commander-in-Chief to defend the American People from an urgent threat."

Let’s not mince words this is judicial overreach at its worst:

• Tren de Aragua has been linked to over 100 murders and violent crimes across multiple countries.

• Illegal border crossings have surged past 6 million since Biden took office, bringing with them cartel members, gangs, and terrorists.

• Federal law has long recognized the president’s authority to remove foreign threats, especially under wartime or national security conditions.

Yet, a single judge appointed by Obama believes he has the power to reverse lawful executive action, even if it means letting dangerous criminals remain in federal custody and threaten the public.

Constitutional experts and commentators have already sounded the alarm. Mollie Hemingway called out Boasberg’s reckless decision, warning that it could spiral the country into a crisis and damage the legitimacy of the judiciary itself.

Enough is enough. The safety of American citizens should never be compromised to appease activist judges or radical defense groups like the ACLU, who are now representing violent foreign gangs.
