Joy Reid Pushes Baseless Conspiracy About Trump Assassination Attempt
The Left’s desperation hits a new low as ex-MSNBC host floats bizarre theory questioning Trump’s shooting despite eyewitnesses and bullet wounds.

Former MSNBC host Joy Reid is once again diving headfirst into conspiracy territory this time by casting doubt on the assassination attempt against President Donald Trump, which left one rallygoer dead, others wounded, and the 45th President bloodied but defiant.
Appearing on a YouTube show hosted by fellow ex-MSNBC figure Katie Phang, Reid casually referred to the attempt on Trump’s life as “alleged,” suggesting without evidence that Trump may not have even been injured at all.
“He's got these magical doctors who claimed that he was shot in the ear, but his ear, I guess, grew back,” Reid scoffed.
The segment quickly devolved into mockery and baseless speculation. Phang chimed in, accusing Trump of using a “Maxi Pad” on his ear, while Reid complained that mainstream media hasn't demanded Trump's full medical records as if the standard for a presidential candidate surviving a literal sniper attack is full public release of every doctor’s note.
Facts Joy Reid Ignores:
The shooter was neutralized on the roof and confirmed dead by law enforcement within minutes of the attack.
Three attendees were shot, including one fatality. The event was broadcast live and captured on dozens of angles, including footage showing Trump bleeding from his right ear.
The Secret Service confirmed a bullet grazed Trump’s head, and emergency treatment was administered immediately.
Trump was later treated by medical professionals who verified his injury, and he was cleared to continue campaigning after recovery.
But none of that seems to matter to Reid, who implied that she knows more about the assassinations of McKinley and Ford than the attempt on a sitting U.S. president in 2024.
“We can't get a medical record from this alleged assassination,” Reid said, before claiming, “the mainstream media isn’t demanding anything. They’re terrified of this man.”
No, Joy what the media is terrified of is a political comeback they can’t control. And what you’re terrified of is that Trump emerged from an assassination attempt stronger, not weaker.
Instead of condemning political violence or honoring the victim who was killed at the Trump rally, the Left’s reaction has been to mock the president’s injury and float conspiracy theories that wouldn’t last a minute on social media if they came from the Right.
In fact, just days after the shooting, Reid posted a thread full of bizarre questions implying the entire event might have been staged:
“What caused Trump’s injury? Shrapnel? Glass? A bullet? Why was Trump allowed to pose for photos…?”
Why? Because he’s a leader. Because Trump stood tall, bleeding and defiant, and showed America what strength looks like while the media scrambled to gaslight the public and spin the narrative.
And let’s be clear: If Joe Biden had been grazed by a bullet on stage, the media would demand a national day of mourning and build a shrine to his "resilience." But when Trump is the target? Crickets or worse, cynical mockery and denial.
Reid’s rant isn’t just reckless. It’s an insult to the American people, to the victims, and to the truth. At a time when political violence is escalating, the Left's refusal to acknowledge reality and their willingness to invent conspiracies to fit their narrative shows how little they care about facts, safety, or basic human decency.
Joy Reid isn’t asking tough questions. She’s running interference for a Democratic Party that would rather pretend the Trump assassination attempt never happened than confront the fact that it failed and he’s still standing.
