Speaker Johnson Warns Migrants: U.S. Border Door Is Closing
Trump’s incoming administration promises mass deportations and restored border security.
House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) sent a clear and decisive message to the millions of migrants seeking to illegally enter the United States: the open-border policies of the Biden administration are coming to an end. Speaking on CNN’s State of the Union, Johnson laid out the Republican Party’s plan to secure the southern border once President-elect Donald Trump takes office in January, alongside a Republican-controlled House and Senate.
“The American people have demanded this,” Johnson said. “Right out of the gates, we are going to secure the border and reverse the damage caused by the Democrats’ reckless policies.”
The Crisis Under Biden
Over the past four years, the U.S. has faced an unprecedented surge of illegal crossings, with an estimated 7 million illegal aliens entering the country under Biden’s watch. The consequences have been devastating:
National Security Risks: Known criminals and terrorists have exploited the porous border, some committing violent crimes after entering the U.S. illegally.
Economic Strain: Local communities have borne the brunt of the migrant surge, with overwhelmed schools, hospitals, and housing markets.
Drug Trafficking: Fentanyl smuggling has reached record levels, leading to a nationwide epidemic that claims thousands of American lives each year.
Johnson attributed these failures directly to the Biden administration, accusing it of prioritizing partisan agendas over the safety and well-being of Americans.
Trump’s Border Plan: Law and Order Restored
Johnson outlined key components of Trump’s border-security plan, including what he described as the largest mass deportation effort in U.S. history.
“There are criminals, known criminals,” Johnson said, referring to individuals apprehended for violent crimes after illegally entering the U.S. “There are known terrorists in the country. President Trump will use his executive authorities beginning on day one to remove these dangerous persons.”
The plan also sends a firm message to would-be migrants: the era of open borders is over. “We need to send a message to people around the world that the open door is now being closed,” Johnson emphasized.
A New Era of Immigration Policy
Trump’s administration is expected to prioritize:
Strengthening Border Security: Completing the wall along the southern border and deploying additional resources to deter illegal crossings.
Mass Deportations: Quickly removing those who entered the country illegally, especially those who pose security risks.
Restoring Deterrence: Making it clear that illegal entry will no longer be tolerated, signaling to migrants and cartels alike that law and order has returned.
The incoming administration aims to fulfill the expectations of a nation fed up with chaos at the border. “President Trump’s commitment to restoring law and order is exactly what Americans are hopeful for and expect,” Johnson said.
As Trump prepares to take the helm, his leadership offers a renewed sense of purpose and accountability on border security. The message is unmistakable: the border crisis ends now.
