Jim Baird Released from Hospital After Accident

Congressman Jim Baird of Indiana, a strong Republican voice in the House, has been discharged from the hospital following a vehicle crash that also injured his wife, Danise. The accident occurred earlier this week, but thankfully, Baird’s recovery was swift, and he was released in under 24 hours. His wife remains under medical care.

In a statement shared Tuesday evening, Baird’s team noted, “We are pleased to share that Congressman Jim Baird was discharged after less than 24 hours in the hospital, and his wife Danise continues to receive excellent care as she recovers.” The family expressed heartfelt gratitude for the public’s support and prayers during this time.

The incident drew immediate response from colleagues, including Rep. Tim Burchett of Tennessee, who remarked, “Jim and I came to Congress together. He lost his arm in combat. He is one of my favorite people up here. God answered my prayer for Jim and please continue to pray for his sweet wife.”

Former President Donald Trump also took time during his remarks to House Republicans at the Trump-Kennedy Center to acknowledge Baird and his wife. “We’re praying that they get outta that hospital very quickly. He's gonna be fine, she's gonna be fine,” Trump said, reinforcing the deep bond among America First lawmakers.

Jim Baird has represented Indiana in Congress since 2019. A decorated Vietnam veteran who lost an arm in combat, Baird has long stood as a symbol of service, leadership, and quiet resilience in a House increasingly divided along partisan lines.

His accident reminds us how important it is to have men of integrity and courage representing our values in Washington especially when the current administration can’t seem to keep its own house in order.
