Jill and Hunter Biden Firmly Oppose Joe Biden's Withdrawal from Race

First lady and Hunter Biden insist President Joe Biden stay in the 2024 race despite growing concerns.

First lady Jill Biden and convicted felon Hunter Biden are reportedly determined to ensure President Joe Biden does not drop out of the 2024 presidential race. Politico reported that despite some family members, including his sister Valerie, expressing concerns about the toll the campaign might take on the 81-year-old’s health, Jill and Hunter remain resolute.

“First lady Jill Biden and the president’s son Hunter Biden are dead-set on the campaign going forward,” the report said.

Key Points:

  • Family Division: Some Biden family members worry about the impact of the campaign on Biden’s health, but Jill and Hunter are insistent on continuing.

  • Hunter’s Involvement: Hunter Biden has been attending official White House meetings despite awaiting sentencing on multiple felony charges and ongoing investigations.

Hunter Biden, who faces a slew of legal challenges including felony weapons charges and additional criminal trials, has increased his presence at the White House. This involvement comes as he remains under criminal investigation and awaits sentencing. President Biden has often referred to his son as the “smartest guy I know,” despite Hunter’s troubled history, including drug addiction and controversial personal relationships.

Bill Stevenson, Jill Biden’s ex-husband, recently criticized her during an interview with the New York Post, describing her as “a completely different woman” and questioning her adamant defense of her husband’s campaign. Stevenson, who claims Jill’s relationship with Joe began as an affair during their marriage, expressed bewilderment at her determination to keep Biden in the race given his apparent struggles.

“I just don’t understand why she is so adamant about defending him and keeping him in the race since it appears that he’s struggling,” Stevenson said. “It appears that he’s struggling with everybody these days.”

Earlier this year, top presidential historian Douglas Brinkley commented on Jill Biden’s influential role, suggesting she is motivated by a desire for power and revenge, contrasting with the supportive roles typically played by other first ladies.

“She likes power. She wants to stay. She wants some sense of revenge,” Brinkley said. “The idea of relinquishing it all after you’ve taken the slings and arrows of the last years of attacks, and at the last minute, just when you get all the delegates you’re going to say, I’m going to open it up to a bunch of people — it’s very childish when you read those kind of reports.”

As the 2024 presidential race heats up, the internal dynamics of the Biden family add another layer of complexity to President Biden’s re-election bid. The unwavering stance of Jill and Hunter Biden suggests that the campaign will continue to push forward despite mounting concerns.
