JD Vance slams NBC for burying Israeli support for Trump

NBC News conveniently omitted Tel Aviv rally cheers for Trump’s peace deal with Hamas.

Vice President JD Vance took aim at NBC News on Sunday, calling out the network for whitewashing Israeli support for President Donald Trump during coverage of a Tel Aviv rally celebrating the peace deal between Israel and Hamas.

While appearing on NBC’s own Meet the Press, Vance confronted host Kristen Welker with what millions of viewers have come to expect from legacy media: selective editing to downplay Trump’s accomplishments.

“But I also have to give your network a little bit of grief, Kristen,” Vance said, “because last night I was watching NBC, they were covering this and they mentioned during a rally last night in Israel… the crowd booed when Bibi Netanyahu was mentioned, but the broadcast didn’t mention when President Trump was mentioned the crowd actually cheered.”

This wasn’t a small detail. It was a massive moment at the rally, where U.S. Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff, Ivanka Trump, and Jared Kushner addressed a crowd gathered in support of Israeli hostages still held by Hamas. As Witkoff mentioned Netanyahu’s name, the crowd responded with loud boos. But later, when he invoked President Trump, the crowd erupted in cheers.

NBC conveniently left that part out.

The context couldn’t be more significant. Just last week, Trump and his team announced they had negotiated a deal that would end the war and bring all living hostages home a staggering diplomatic feat Biden failed to accomplish for nearly two years. According to Israeli officials, hostages are expected to be released within 72 hours, while arrangements for the return of the bodies of the deceased will follow shortly thereafter.

Instead of giving credit where it’s due, NBC cherry-picked their narrative highlighting booing for Netanyahu while scrubbing the pro-Trump response. And the media wonders why trust in journalism has plummeted.

Let’s be clear:

  • Trump’s deal is bringing home hostages after two years of Biden’s paralysis.

  • The Israeli public is cheering Trump’s name in the streets of Tel Aviv.

  • NBC pretended it never happened.

Vance didn’t let it slide. He explained the crowd’s reaction simply: “Because this moment came from very, very deliberate and consequential diplomacy from the president and the entire administration.”

Once again, the corporate media is trying to erase Trump's successes. But even across the ocean in a country under siege the people know who delivered when it mattered most.
