Israeli Embassy Attacker Faces New Terrorism Charges
The suspect shouted anti-Israel slogans and left a manifesto encouraging political violence now prosecutors want a life sentence.

In a chilling escalation of a case that has already rocked Washington and the Jewish-American community, federal prosecutors have filed new terrorism charges against Elias Rodriguez the man accused of gunning down two Israeli embassy staffers in cold blood.
Rodriguez, 31, now faces a 13-count indictment, with four new terrorism charges added, including “acts of terrorism while armed,” and a federal aggravating factor for “substantial planning and premeditation.” The attack, which prosecutors say was motivated by anti-Israel hatred, unfolded outside an event at the Capital Jewish Museum in May.
The victims, Yaron Lischinsky, 30, and Sarah Milgrim, 28, were both full-time Israeli embassy staffers.
Rodriguez reportedly fired 20 rounds while yelling “Free Palestine,” then walked into the museum to declare, “I did it for Palestine. I did it for Gaza.”
The new terrorism charges carry a mandatory life sentence under D.C. law.
“This was not just murder it was terrorism,” said U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro. “We will not rest until Rodriguez is held accountable for his targeted assault against innocent people and our Jewish community.”
According to the indictment, Rodriguez authored a manifesto that aimed to morally justify his actions and rally others to commit similar violence. During his arrest, he continued his hateful tirade, yelling “shame on you” and accusing law enforcement of being part of a “Zio-nazi terror” conspiracy.
Lischinsky, a dual German-Israeli citizen and devout evangelical Christian, immigrated to Israel at age 16, served in the IDF, and joined the Israeli embassy in 2022 as a political analyst. He had plans to propose to Milgrim, an American from Kansas City who worked in the embassy’s Public Diplomacy Department.
This brazen act of violence didn’t happen in a vacuum it’s part of a growing pattern. In 2023 alone, antisemitic incidents in the U.S. reached an all-time high, with over 3,600 reported by the ADL. More concerning, a 25% increase in violent anti-Israel protests has coincided with an emboldened wave of political rhetoric from far-left groups and soft-handed responses from the Biden administration.
While Democrats continue to avoid calling this what it is terrorism federal prosecutors have now made it official. The question is, will the mainstream media and the White House finally acknowledge the danger, or continue coddling radical activists under the guise of “social justice”?
The fact that a known political extremist walked into a museum, executed two innocent people, and tried to justify it in writing as a call to arms, should terrify every American. And yet, you won’t hear a word of it from Biden or Harris.
Justice must be swift. Justice must be final. And justice must send a clear message that political violence has no home in this country.
