Israel and U.S. Launch Devastating Counterstrike on Houthis After Missile Hits Airport
Coordinated operation marks first Israeli strike on Yemen since Trump’s return, signaling renewed resolve to hold Iran’s terror proxies accountable.

Israel and the United States launched a powerful joint counterstrike Monday night against the Iran-backed Houthi regime in Yemen, just 24 hours after the terrorist group fired a ballistic missile that exploded near Israel’s Ben-Gurion Airport, wounding six and halting flights.
This marks the first Israeli strike on the Houthis since President Donald Trump returned to office, and it sends a crystal-clear message terrorism will be met with overwhelming force.
The Israeli Air Force deployed 20 fighter jets, dropping 50 precision-guided munitions on dozens of targets along Yemen’s western coast. Simultaneously, the United States coordinated intelligence and airspace deconfliction as part of its ongoing campaign against the Houthis, who have launched over 400 attacks since October 2023.
“Over the past year and a half, the Houthi terrorist regime has been operating under Iranian direction and funding,” the IDF stated, vowing to strike “at any distance” to protect Israeli civilians.
Since March, the U.S. alone has carried out over 800 strikes, eliminating hundreds of Houthi fighters and top leaders. Thanks to Trump’s direct military posture, Houthi missile attacks are down 69% and suicide drone strikes down 55%, according to Pentagon data.
But this strike was different it came in direct retaliation for a failed interception of a missile that landed near Israel’s most critical civilian airport, in an unprecedented escalation of the Houthis’ campaign.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu oversaw the operation personally from the Air Force command center, demonstrating the urgency and seriousness of Israel’s response. Among the key targets:
Hudaydah Port, a hub for Iranian weapons transfers and terror logistics.
The “Bajil” Concrete Plant, used for constructing terror tunnels and underground facilities.
Multiple Houthi radar sites, storage depots, and staging areas along Yemen’s coast.
These targets weren’t randomly selected they were deliberately chosen to cripple the Houthis’ economic and operational backbone.
“We will not allow Israel’s skies to be turned into a terror testing ground,” an IDF official told Israeli media.
President Trump, who has long advocated for holding Tehran accountable for its proxy wars, issued a stark warning earlier this year:
“Every shot fired by the Houthis will be looked upon, from this point forward, as being a shot fired… by IRAN.”
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth backed that up last week, warning Iran that it would “pay the consequence” for supporting terror groups like the Houthis.
The Trump administration’s return to “peace through strength” is now visible in real-time. Unlike the appeasement policies of the Biden years which emboldened Iran and allowed its proxies to terrorize the region Trump and Hegseth are showing the world that American leadership has teeth again.
While the Left frets about diplomacy and “restraint,” terrorists are getting the message loud and clear: you strike Israel or American interests you get hit back, hard.
