Israel Accuses UN of Blocking Gaza Aid in Mafia-Style Tactics
Ambassador slams United Nations for siding with Hamas and intimidating U.S.-backed humanitarian groups trying to help civilians.

Israel’s Ambassador to the United Nations, Danny Danon, didn’t hold back on Wednesday when he described what he says is the UN’s calculated effort to sabotage U.S.-backed humanitarian aid to Gaza. His words were sharp and direct the UN’s behavior is not just hostile it’s “Mafia-like.”
Danon accused the UN of intimidating and blacklisting U.S.-backed NGOs that are working through the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), a new mechanism supported by the United States and designed to bypass Hamas and ensure direct aid to civilians.
“Without any discussion, without due process, the UN removed those NGOs from the shared aid database,” Danon stated. “This is the central tracking system for humanitarian aid into Gaza. It’s a disgrace a shakedown. This is extortion of good-faith organizations who refuse to bend the knee to the UN’s mob tactics.”
The shared database in question was created under a UN General Assembly resolution, yet now it’s being used as a tool of retaliation. NGOs that joined the new GHF program were delisted without explanation essentially frozen out of the official aid flow simply for working outside the UN’s political game.
Danon’s charges come after the UN had already made headlines in mid-May for peddling disinformation. UN aid chief Tom Fletcher falsely claimed that 14,000 babies would die within two days if aid didn’t reach Gaza a wildly irresponsible and unsubstantiated statement that was later walked back. Fletcher later attacked the U.S.-backed effort, calling it a “cynical sideshow” while offering no real solutions for bypassing Hamas, which has a proven track record of stealing and weaponizing aid.
The UN’s decades-long anti-Israel bias isn’t new it’s just becoming more blatant:
In November 2024, UN Special Advisor Alice Nderitu was fired for refusing to falsely declare that Israel was committing genocide.
In October, Israel banned UN Secretary-General António Guterres after his refusal to condemn Hamas’ rape and murder spree on October 7.
By July, the UN’s International Court of Justice declared that Jewish settlements in Judea, Samaria, and East Jerusalem including the Temple Mount were “unlawful.” A slap in the face to Israel’s biblical and historical roots.
Danon’s call was clear: the UN must stop protecting Hamas and instead do its actual job facilitating humanitarian assistance, not politicizing it. “I urge the UN,” he said, “do not let your egos get in the way. Cooperate with the new mechanism… shift your focus from dramatic press statements and intimidating NGOs to the work you are supposed to be doing.”
The reality is this while Hamas blocks aid convoys and siphons off supplies, the UN is helping them by undermining any effort to go around the terror group. America, through the Trump administration and allies like Danon, is stepping in where the UN has failed offering real help to civilians without handing the keys to terrorists.
