Netanyahu Vows to Take Control of Gaza and Deliver Humanitarian Aid

Netanyahu says total military takeover is the only path to victory and the release of hostages.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made it crystal clear this week Israel will take full military control of the Gaza Strip. It’s a move that’s long overdue and one that reflects the reality on the ground there’s no third option. Either Hamas continues to operate as a terrorist regime, or Israel steps in and finishes the job.

Speaking candidly, Netanyahu declared, “We are going to take control of all the areas of the Gaza Strip. That is what we are going to do.” With Hamas still holding dozens of Israeli hostages and using civilians as human shields, Israel is left with no choice. Weakness is not an option when lives are on the line and national security is at stake.

At the same time, Netanyahu announced Israel would allow “minimal, basic” aid to reach civilians. Not to help Hamas but to prevent the international community from weaponizing starvation as propaganda against Israel. It’s a calculated strategy that prioritizes long-term victory over short-term popularity.

  • Aid will be distributed through secure IDF-controlled zones, with American firms delivering essentials like food and medicine.

  • Hamas will be cut off from accessing aid, neutralizing their ability to exploit humanitarian shipments.

  • This method was coordinated with the United States, showing at least some alignment with Western allies on how to thread the needle between military action and civilian care.

Netanyahu addressed internal opposition within his government head-on. Some ministers oppose humanitarian aid altogether but he made it clear that leadership means making unpopular choices when the stakes are this high. “Even if it sometimes requires making decisions that the public does not understand… I understand that,” he added, hinting at the political pressure some in his cabinet are buckling under.

And what about the hostages? Netanyahu was blunt defeating Hamas is the only way to bring them home. There’s no diplomatic trick or secret deal that will change that brutal equation. Only victory will end the suffering and restore Israeli sovereignty and security.

This announcement underscores a broader point that can’t be ignored: weakness in the face of terrorism only emboldens extremists. Just like Biden’s disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan created a vacuum for the Taliban, any pullback in Gaza would leave Hamas in charge again. That’s not just bad for Israel it’s bad for the entire free world.

The American left won’t admit it, but this is a moment where decisive action matters. When leadership actually leads. Netanyahu may not be popular in elite circles, but he understands something most Western leaders have forgotten: peace is only possible through strength.
