Palestinian Arson Encouraged as Fires Ravage Israel on Memorial Day

As Israelis mourn their fallen, Palestinian extremists ignite flames and call for more terror in the form of arson across Judea, Samaria, and Jerusalem.

As Israel solemnly observed Yom HaZikaron, honoring the tens of thousands who gave their lives defending the Jewish state, the nation was plunged into chaos as raging fires erupted across the Judean Hills fires that, according to multiple Palestinian sources, were not accidental.

The infernos tore through forests and hills near Jerusalem, forcing the shutdown of Israel’s Highway 1 and triggering a full-scale national emergency. Fire and Rescue Commissioner Eyal Caspi raised the alert to its highest level. Desperate for aid, Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar contacted Greece, Croatia, Italy, Cyprus, and Bulgaria for firefighting assistance, though help wasn’t expected until later Wednesday.

But while Israelis battled flames and mourned their dead, Palestinian extremists celebrated and urged more violence.

Hamas, the Iran-backed terrorist organization, used Telegram to incite further arson:

“Burn whatever you can of groves, forests, and settler homes… Gaza awaits the revenge of the free.”

This wasn’t an isolated message. Other Palestinian platforms openly joined the call for terror:

  • Jenin News Network encouraged attacks on areas near Israeli communities.

  • Akhbar Filastin, a widely-followed Palestinian outlet on X, issued a call to arms:

“Settlers’ homes and the surrounding areas are your target. Burn them with your Molotov cocktails and set fire to the grass near the settlement outposts.”

These are not metaphorical calls for resistance they are direct instructions to commit acts of terror by fire, with civilian populations and homes as targets.

Israeli authorities have arrested at least three suspects connected to Wednesday’s fires. But the incitement remains widespread, and officials fear more attacks are imminent. Knesset member Zvi Sukkot warned:

“As the fires spread, calls are being published on Arab networks to ‘set fire to the occupied forests and settlements.’ There is a real concern... that Palestinians will attempt to set additional fires in Judea and Samaria and throughout the country.”

The timing of these attacks is no accident. Yom HaZikaron is a sacred day in Israel, and the shift to Yom Ha’Atzmaut Independence Day was supposed to be a moment of unity and celebration. Instead, all national performances and festivities were canceled due to the ongoing threat.

Let’s be clear: these aren’t wildfires. They’re acts of arson terrorism, encouraged by those who want to see Israel burn literally. And as usual, the international community remains silent.

How long will the West ignore the fact that Palestinian terror groups not only glorify violence but actively weaponize fire against civilians? Where is the outrage when forests and homes are targeted simply because they belong to Jews?

As Israel stands against this literal and ideological firestorm, the world must wake up and recognize arson as the act of terror it is and those who incite it as the terrorists they are.
