Iran Launches 200 Ballistic Missiles at Israel in Major Escalation

Iran fired approximately 200 ballistic missiles at Israel on Tuesday night, sending millions of civilians scrambling for bomb shelters. The attack, executed in two waves, marked one of the largest missile strikes against Israel in recent memory, targeting nearly 10 million people across the country.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed the assault, stating, “All Israeli civilians are in bomb shelters as rockets from Iran are fired at Israel.” The first wave of the attack saw around 100 missiles launched from within Iran, followed by an additional 100 missiles in a second barrage.

Footage shared across social media showed the terrifying moments as missiles soared through Israeli airspace, many intercepted by the country’s advanced defense systems. However, several reports indicated that some of the missiles managed to strike Israeli territory, though details on casualties remain unclear.

This missile barrage is the latest development in an ongoing conflict, as Iran continues to underwrite terror across the region through its proxy groups, including Hamas and Hezbollah. Both terrorist organizations have been responsible for numerous attacks against Israel, and Tehran’s support for these groups underscores its long-standing hostility toward the Jewish state.

In a video released by the IRGC, ballistic missiles were shown being launched from Iranian territory, boasting about their strike capabilities and the destruction they aimed to cause in Israel.

Israel is expected to retaliate swiftly, with officials already warning that Iran’s oil and nuclear facilities could be targeted. This clash may well spark further military engagements, with the potential to draw in additional regional powers, including the U.S.
