Illegal Immigrant With California CDL Kills Three in Florida Crash

Three innocent Americans are dead because of a radical policy that put political virtue-signaling above public safety.

On August 12, 35-year-old Harjinder Singh a man who illegally crossed the U.S. southern border in 2018 was behind the wheel of a semi-truck in southern Florida when he attempted an illegal U-turn on the Florida Turnpike. His reckless action resulted in a violent crash that killed three people: a 30-year-old man from Florida City, a 37-year-old woman from Pompano Beach, and a 54-year-old man from Miami.

Singh was issued a commercial driver’s license (CDL) in the state of California, thanks to far-left Democrat Governor Gavin Newsom’s open-borders policy machine.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Singh was driving a tractor-trailer hauling a box trailer when he made an unauthorized U-turn at an “official use only” access point cutting across all northbound lanes. A minivan traveling in the inside lane was “unable to avoid” the truck and became wedged under its trailer. All three passengers in the van were killed on impact.

The FLHSMV (Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles) confirmed that Singh had no legal right to be in the country and obtained his CDL through California’s permissive licensing laws for illegal immigrants.

This horrifying tragedy is the direct result of Newsom’s pro-illegal immigration policies:

• AB 60, passed in 2013, first allowed illegal immigrants to obtain standard driver’s licenses.

• AB 1766, signed into law by Newsom in 2022, expanded access to state-issued IDs for all illegal immigrants, even if they don’t drive further legitimizing their presence in the state.

• Despite growing crime and chaos, Newsom never lifted a finger to undo or limit these policies instead doubling down on open-borders ideology.

In fact, Newsom had the audacity to sue the Trump administration for deploying the National Guard to protect the border, claiming Trump "didn’t believe in the rule of law." Yet the policies Newsom championed are now linked to a deadly crash involving an unvetted, illegal immigrant truck driver operating on a state-issued commercial license.

So much for the “rule of law.”

Gavin Newsom wants to be seen as a future Democratic Party presidential contender. But under his leadership, California has transformed into a haven for illegal aliens not just to live, but to work in high-risk industries like commercial trucking, with zero accountability.

Now three families are planning funerals because of it.

If this doesn’t expose the dangers of granting state privileges to those who have broken federal law, nothing will. Policies have consequences and in this case, they were fatal.
