Illegal Alien Rams Officer in Failed Smuggling Arrest in California
Human smuggler with violent criminal record injures federal agent as border chaos spirals under sanctuary policies.

An immigration enforcement officer was injured Wednesday morning in Compton, California, after a violent illegal alien and human smuggler with a history of domestic abuse rammed his vehicle into federal agents while attempting to flee arrest.
According to the Department of Homeland Security, the suspect, William Eduardo Moran Carballo, a Salvadoran national, has been the subject of a final deportation order since 2019. He also has two prior arrests for inflicting corporal injury on a spouse or cohabitant yet remained in the country due to the disastrous refusal of California officials to cooperate with federal law enforcement.
As agents closed in, Carballo used his vehicle as a weapon, injuring at least one officer. DHS confirmed that an agent fired “defensive shots” during the incident. Carballo, who was not struck, fled the scene on foot before being captured a short time later.
“In a dangerous attempt to evade arrest, this criminal illegal alien weaponized his vehicle and rammed law enforcement,” DHS said in a statement. “Fearing for his life and safety, an agent fired defensive shots.”
This latest act of violence is not an isolated incident it's part of a growing wave of attacks on immigration officers:
ICE has reported a staggering 1,300% surge in assaults on federal agents in recent years.
Vehicular attacks are up by 3,200%, according to DHS data.
Just last week, an ICE officer in Minneapolis was hit by a car driven by an activist tied to an anti-ICE watch group.
Days later, another illegal alien attacked an ICE officer with a snow shovel and broom while evading arrest and had previously been released by local authorities despite ICE’s detainer.
This dangerous escalation isn’t just happening by accident it’s being fueled by sanctuary state policies and radical politicians who encourage illegal aliens to resist lawful arrest.
California Governor Gavin Newsom and his allies have created a culture of open defiance against federal law, publishing “how-to” guides for evading ICE and tying the hands of local police. The result? Dangerous criminals like Carballo are allowed to roam free until they ram a federal officer with a vehicle.
This is the cost of open borders and sanctuary policies: violent criminals stay, innocent people get hurt, and law enforcement is under siege.
There was a time when deportation orders meant something when violent illegal aliens weren’t allowed to linger in our neighborhoods and run organized smuggling operations. But under today’s leftist immigration framework, criminal aliens are treated better than the agents risking their lives to remove them.
The situation in Compton should be a wake-up call. Carballo had no legal right to be in the United States. He had been ordered out years ago. Yet thanks to a broken system, political obstruction, and a federal government overwhelmed by over 8 million illegal border encounters under Biden, he was still here and nearly killed someone.
How many more officers have to be hospitalized? How many families have to suffer? How many Americans have to die before the political class finally admits that border security is national security?
