Ilhan Omar Clashes with Trump Over Constitution Comments
As Trump highlights Omar’s radical record, the far-left congresswoman plays the victim card again.

Rep. Ilhan Omar, the far-left Democrat from Minnesota, is back in the headlines after taking another swing at President Donald Trump and once again, it’s over the U.S. Constitution. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Omar responded to Trump’s recent remarks questioning her understanding of America's founding document with a smug retort: "Unlike you, I can read."
This latest clash is a continuation of a years-long feud between Omar and President Trump one that has, for good reason, become symbolic of a much deeper divide between patriotic Americans and a radical, ungrateful political class.
Trump, in a Fox News interview earlier this week, slammed Omar’s repeated invocations of the Constitution to justify her far-left agenda. “She comes from Somalia where they don’t have anything... and she comes in and tells us how to run our country,” Trump said. “The whole thing is crazy.”
He’s not wrong.
Omar, a Somali refugee who was granted asylum by the United States, has spent her political career bashing the very country that welcomed her family in their time of need. She’s attacked U.S. law enforcement, smeared the military, called to dismantle the police, and regularly sides with America’s enemies both foreign and domestic.
Let’s not forget:
Omar called for the defunding of police while Minneapolis burned in 2020.
She compared the U.S. and Israel to terrorist groups like Hamas and the Taliban.
She pushed to abolish ICE, end deportations, and open America’s borders to all.
And now, she’s lecturing the rest of us about the Constitution?
Omar also responded to Trump’s past comments suggesting she “go back” to Somalia by claiming she’s not afraid of deportation. “I could go live wherever I want,” she said in a recent interview, downplaying the idea that being removed from the U.S. would be a real punishment. Apparently, life in the country she claims to love so much is optional.
Trump responded by noting he once spoke to the Somali president about taking Omar back and was allegedly told Somalia didn’t want her either. Omar, predictably, denied the story and resorted to calling the former president a “lying buffoon” and an “embarrassing fool.”
But here’s the truth: President Trump isn’t just pointing out Omar’s hypocrisy he’s reminding Americans what’s at stake. It’s not about her background. It’s about her beliefs. And no amount of media spin can change the fact that Ilhan Omar has built a political career out of undermining the nation that gave her everything.
Trump says what millions of Americans are thinking: If you hate this country so much, why are you in Congress?
Omar’s defenders in the media can cry racism all they want, but the facts are clear. She is a product of a broken immigration and political system one that elevated a fringe ideologue into a seat of power, where she now works daily to erode the very freedoms she claims to defend.
America deserves better than open-borders radicals who mock our Constitution while hiding behind it.
