Vast Majority of ICE Arrests Target Criminal Illegal Aliens

While the media and left-wing activists continue to demonize U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) as heartless or oppressive, the facts tell a completely different story.

According to new data released by Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin, more than 70% of the illegal aliens arrested by ICE have criminal convictions or pending criminal charges inside the United States. That figure out of over 600,000 arrests does not even include crimes committed in other countries, which would push that number even higher.

“DHS is targeting the worst of the worst criminal illegal aliens including murderers, rapists, gang members, pedophiles, and terrorists,” McLaughlin stated.

And yet, ICE agents are the ones being protested, obstructed, and vilified in Democrat-run cities.

In a viral video from earlier this week, one ICE agent confronted protesters who were honking and interfering with an ongoing arrest operation:

“We’re here to arrest a child sex offender, and you guys are out here honking... That’s who you guys are protecting. Insane.”

Sadly, this isn’t the exception it’s becoming the norm.

• 70% of ICE arrests involve illegals with serious criminal charges or convictions in the U.S.

• Assaults on ICE agents have skyrocketed by 1,300%, reflecting the increasing danger faced by law enforcement.

• Many of those arrested are also wanted abroad for murder, terrorism, human rights abuses, or are flagged by INTERPOL.

Meanwhile, progressive politicians and activist groups continue to obstruct ICE operations, often under the banner of “compassion” or “resistance.” What they’re really doing is protecting violent offenders and predators, at the expense of public safety.

Take Minneapolis, for example a city that has become a flashpoint for anti-ICE riots and disruptions. Protesters routinely interfere with ICE operations, emboldened by media narratives that paint ICE agents as villains, rather than public servants trying to keep Americans safe.

And the Biden administration? Silent. Or worse complicit.

Under Democrat leadership, ICE agents have been stripped of resources, hamstrung by bureaucracy, and dehumanized by politicians who would rather score points with the far-left than uphold the law. The Department of Homeland Security reports that their agents are facing unprecedented levels of violence while simply doing their jobs.

This is the real humanitarian crisis an open-border agenda that not only floods our country with illegal entrants, but shields the worst among them from justice all while demonizing those sworn to protect our communities.

America is a nation of laws. Enforcing immigration law is not “racist” or “xenophobic” it’s common sense. And if Democrats in Washington and across liberal cities won’t support ICE, it’s time voters support leaders who will.
