ICE Arrests Moldovan Killer Released Under Biden

In a chilling case that underscores the utter collapse of immigration enforcement under the Biden administration, a convicted murderer who tortured a victim and threw them from a ninth-floor window was found roaming freely in Los Angeles years after she was first detained by ICE during President Trump’s first term.

Victoria Sorocean, an illegal immigrant from Moldova, was convicted in 2013 of premeditated murder with exceptional cruelty after beating her victim with a stick and electrical cable before shoving them out of a high-rise apartment window in Chisinau, Moldova. She was sentenced to 17 years in prison, but instead of facing justice, she fled the country.

She was initially arrested by ICE on January 10, 2020, under the Trump administration. But instead of being deported, she filed multiple asylum claims and legal appeals to delay removal. Then, in a move that defies logic and endangers American communities, the Biden administration released her back into the U.S. in 2022.

Let that sink in.

A convicted killer someone who tortured a human being to death was released into the American public. And she wasn’t the only one. This case is just one among millions that highlight the devastating cost of the Left’s open-border policies.

According to ICE, 70% of all their current arrests involve illegal aliens who have been charged with or convicted of serious crimes here in the United States. That figure doesn’t even account for foreign fugitives like Sorocean, who are actively wanted in their home countries for violent offenses.

Tricia McLaughlin, DHS Assistant Secretary, didn’t mince words:

“It shocks the conscience that the Biden administration released into America a cruel, violent illegal alien who tortured a human being, beat them with an electrical cable and a stick and then threw her victim from a ninth-floor window.”

She’s right. It should shock the conscience but unfortunately, under the Biden-Harris regime, this is business as usual.

Under President Trump and Secretary Kristi Noem, ICE is once again being empowered to do its job remove violent foreign criminals from U.S. soil. There is no excuse for allowing brutal murderers to remain in this country while law-abiding citizens are forced to live with the consequences of open-borders insanity.

This is not just a policy failure. It is a moral failure.

• The U.S. immigration system is overwhelmed.

• Our border patrol officers are being sidelined.

• Criminals like Victoria Sorocean are falling through the cracks and into our neighborhoods.

Thankfully, ICE was finally able to re-arrest Sorocean on November 4 in Los Angeles. She is now back in custody pending deportation proceedings. But the question remains: How many more like her are still out there?

While leftist politicians make excuses and prioritize illegal alien “rights,” innocent Americans continue to pay the price. Enough is enough.
