ICE Arrests Criminal Illegals in Minneapolis Amid Left-Wing Backlash

While Minneapolis politicians posture for headlines, President Trump’s immigration crackdown is quietly cleaning up the streets.

On Tuesday, federal agents with Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrested several illegal immigrants in the Twin Cities many with long criminal histories that include sexual assault, domestic abuse, and drug trafficking. The arrests came as part of Operation Metro Surge, a Trump administration initiative launched in December to target the most dangerous illegal aliens hiding in plain sight in sanctuary cities like Minneapolis.

Among those taken into custody:

• Teng Houa Vang, a Vietnamese national, convicted of domestic assault, making terroristic threats, violating protection orders and facing charges ranging from arson to drug possession and property damage.

• Francisco Salazar-Solorzano, a Salvadoran national, arrested for DUI, domestic violence, and assault.

• Victor Javier Bahena-Sandoval, a Mexican national with a rap sheet that includes domestic violence, illegal re-entry, and disorderly conduct.

• Lorenzo Armillas Llaurado, from Spain, convicted of felony drug distribution.

• Michael Opeoluwa Egbele, a Nigerian national, convicted of impersonation fraud.

Yet despite these clear threats to public safety, Democrat leaders are choosing to attack ICE agents instead of criminals.

“We are in Minnesota to arrest the worst of the worst criminal illegal aliens,” said DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin. “Governor Walz and Mayor Frey refuse to let us into their jails and instead choose to release criminal illegal aliens back into Minnesota neighborhoods to victimize more Americans.”

And when law enforcement was forced to respond during a violent confrontation last week where a suspect named Renee Good was fatally shot after reportedly striking an ICE officer with her vehicle Mayor Jacob Frey didn’t hesitate to blame federal agents.

“Get the f**k out of Minneapolis,” Frey shouted at a press conference. “You are doing exactly the opposite [of safety].”

Let that sink in. A sanctuary city mayor telling federal officers to leave after they were assaulted in the line of duty all while shielding criminals with violent pasts.

This is what the modern Democratic Party stands for: protecting criminal aliens over law-abiding Americans. Minneapolis has become a sanctuary not for the vulnerable, but for predators, traffickers, and abusers.

Thanks to Trump’s leadership, ICE has already conducted over 622,000 deportations, with another 1.9 million self-deporting as the administration ramps up pressure. These operations aren’t just about immigration they’re about protecting American communities from people who never should have been here in the first place.

While Democrats grandstand and protest, the Trump administration is delivering results. And the American people are watching.
