Democrats Demand Prosecution of ICE Agent After Minneapolis Shooting
Radical Left pushes anti-ICE legislation while ignoring the danger posed to law enforcement in deadly confrontation.

In yet another shameful display of anti-law enforcement rhetoric, Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA) has called for the arrest and prosecution of a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent involved in a fatal shooting during a lawful federal operation in Minneapolis earlier this month.
The agent fatally shot 37-year-old Renee Good on January 7 after she allegedly attempted to use her vehicle as a weapon against officers executing a federal warrant. The incident, which federal officials described as self-defense, is now being weaponized by Democrats to undermine ICE agents and push a sweeping anti-enforcement agenda.
Khanna, in a post on X, didn’t mince words “I am calling for the arrest and prosecution of the ICE agent that shot and killed Renee Good.”
Alongside Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX), Khanna is pushing legislation that would strip ICE agents of their tactical tools, including mask usage and operational anonymity, and subject them to intrusive bureaucratic oversight. The bill would mandate:
Body cameras for ICE agents during operations
Visible identification at all times
A ban on masks, regardless of mission risk
Creation of an “independent oversight” body for ICE activities
It’s clear this has little to do with transparency and everything to do with handcuffing agents who risk their lives enforcing immigration laws that Democrats refuse to support.
The facts about the shooting, as released by federal officials, paint a different picture than the Left's narrative. Agents were conducting a lawful operation when Good, according to DHS, attempted to ram them with her vehicle a deadly weapon in any context. In response, an ICE agent fired in accordance with their training and in defense of fellow officers.
But instead of standing behind federal law enforcement, Minneapolis politicians and Minnesota’s left-wing leadership have gone on the offensive. Mayor Jacob Frey and Governor Tim Walz criticized the operation and even filed a politically charged lawsuit against the Trump administration, absurdly calling federal immigration enforcement “unlawful” and “unprecedented.”
This is political theater at its worst. These are the same politicians who turned a blind eye during the 2020 riots and now want to undermine ICE while their cities descend into lawlessness.
Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem responded to the hysteria, defending the agents and condemning Democrat efforts to sabotage immigration enforcement.
“These law enforcement officers are trained to be in situations that are dangerous, and they rely on that training each and every day to make the right decisions,” Noem stated.
That’s exactly right. Our federal agents aren’t the enemy they’re the front line in a fight to restore law and order in a country being torn apart by illegal immigration, cartel crime, and woke policies that treat criminals as victims and police as villains.
The Left’s latest crusade against ICE isn’t about justice. It’s about power, politics, and punishing those who refuse to play along with their open-borders agenda.
America should stand with its law enforcement, not persecute them.
