Trump’s Border Czar Criticizes Democrats After Woman’s Death Allegedly Caused by Illegal Alien
Tom Homan holds Biden administration and sanctuary policies responsible for horrific subway murder.
Tom Homan, President-elect Donald Trump’s incoming border czar, criticized Democrats and their immigration policies after a Guatemalan illegal alien allegedly murdered a woman on a New York City subway by setting her on fire.
The alleged murderer, a 33-year-old Guatemalan national, had been deported under the Trump administration in 2018 after illegally crossing the southern border. He later re-entered the United States undetected, raising questions about border security under the Biden administration.
“This is another example of an illegal alien killing an American citizen. It’s almost a daily occurrence now,” Homan said on Monday. He linked the murder directly to the Biden administration’s lax immigration enforcement and the policies of sanctuary jurisdictions.
Homan accused Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas of tying the hands of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents, restricting their ability to arrest and deport illegal aliens unless they’ve been convicted of serious crimes.
“So this is on this administration,” Homan asserted, emphasizing how policy failures contribute to such tragedies.
Homan also blasted New York Governor Kathy Hochul, calling out her support for sanctuary policies in the state:
Hochul’s administration has welcomed thousands of illegal immigrants, redistributing them to cities like Buffalo and Syracuse, where violent crimes by illegal aliens have occurred.
New York’s “green light law” prevents ICE and Customs and Border Protection (CBP) from accessing state DMV data, impeding their ability to locate and apprehend criminal aliens.
“Shame on her,” Homan said. “ICE and CBP can’t even work with local law enforcement. Local law enforcement can’t share DMV data with these people. So Governor Hochul, shame on you, there is nothing you can say that’s going to make this right in New York.”
Homan tied the subway murder to broader systemic failures under the Biden administration, pointing to record numbers of criminal aliens entering the country. The administration’s refusal to enforce immigration laws, coupled with sanctuary policies, has created an environment where tragedies like this are increasingly common.
As President-elect Trump prepares to take office, Homan has vowed to restore border security and take aggressive action to remove criminal aliens. “This is why we need strong immigration enforcement,” Homan said, reinforcing Trump’s promise to prioritize the safety and security of Americans.
