Hawaii Senator Believes Pete Hegseth Will Support Trump’s Greenland Plans

Democrat Senator Mazie Hirono (D-HI) delivered one of the most unhinged performances in recent memory during Tuesday’s Armed Forces Committee hearing, accusing Defense Secretary nominee Pete Hegseth of personally planning to invade Greenland on behalf of President-elect Donald Trump.

Hirono, seemingly unable to grasp strategic military discussions, fixated on Trump’s past comments about Greenland’s value and suggested that the president-elect intended to “storm” Greenland using military force. She went as far as asking Hegseth directly if he would use the U.S. military to take the Danish-controlled territory by force.

Hegseth, a decorated Army veteran, refused to engage with the senator’s absurd premise. Instead, he reaffirmed Trump’s long-standing strategy of keeping adversaries guessing. But Hirono wasn’t interested in reason she was determined to push her own delusions.

• Hirono falsely claimed Trump planned to militarily seize the Panama Canal, another baseless accusation.

• She also cited an unverified remark from former Defense Secretary Mark Esper’s memoir, claiming Trump ordered the military to “shoot protesters in the legs” during the 2020 George Floyd riots.

• Hegseth, who personally served with the D.C. National Guard during the riots, reminded Hirono that 50 Secret Service agents were injured while defending the White House from violent rioters.

Hirono, of course, ignored the facts and cut Hegseth off mid-response, twisting his words to claim he was willing to shoot American protesters on command a blatant lie.

This entire charade proves what we already know: Democrats aren’t interested in national security they’re only interested in smearing Trump and his allies. Hirono’s theatrics weren’t just embarrassing; they were dangerous. While Trump prepares to restore law and order, Democrats are busy fabricating conspiracy theories about Greenland invasions and riot crackdowns.
