Hegseth Deploys 3,000 Troops to Secure Southern Border

The Trump administration is doubling down on its mission to secure America’s borders, with Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth ordering the deployment of 3,000 active-duty troops to the U.S.-Mexico border. The move, which includes a Stryker Brigade Combat Team, signals a major escalation in border enforcement efforts aimed at sealing the border and protecting U.S. territorial integrity.

A Defense Department spokesman confirmed that the deployment will take place “in the coming weeks” and will work in coordination with the Department of Homeland Security. “Their deployment underscores the Department’s unwavering dedication to working alongside the Department of Homeland Security to secure our southern border and maintain the sovereignty, territorial integrity, and security of the United States under President Trump’s leadership,” Defense spokesman Sean Parnell said.

Hegseth left no room for doubt about the administration’s stance, posting on social media: “We are dead serious about 100% OPERATIONAL CONTROL of the southern border.”

President Trump echoed this sentiment over the weekend, celebrating the administration’s success:

“The Invasion of our Country is OVER,” Trump declared. “In comparison, under Joe Biden, there were 300,000 Illegals crossing in one month, and virtually ALL of them were released into our Country.”
