Kamala Harris Blames Trump for Jimmy Kimmel Suspension
Desperate to stay relevant, Harris accuses Trump of censorship while defending a left-wing comedian's smear campaign.

Kamala Harris is back in the spotlight and once again, she’s using the stage to hurl baseless accusations at President Donald Trump. During her keynote address at the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation’s Phoenix Awards Gala Saturday night, the former vice president claimed that Jimmy Kimmel’s brief suspension from ABC was due to Trump’s inability to “take a joke.”
No, seriously.
“When a president with a fragile ego couldn’t take the joke and brought down the weight of the federal government to silence the voice of a citizen, folks spoke with their pocketbooks this week, and Jimmy Kimmel is now back on the air,” Harris declared.
The only problem? The facts don’t back her up.
Kimmel, a late-night left-wing activist masquerading as a comedian, found himself pulled off air after mocking conservative outrage over the assassination of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk. During the monologue, Kimmel accused the “MAGA gang” of trying to paint the killer as a leftist, even though police reports confirmed the suspect had expressed radical progressive views.
Broadcast giants Nexstar Media Group and Sinclair Broadcast Group not the federal government yanked the show from their local ABC affiliates for what they called “ill-timed” and “insensitive” commentary. Disney followed suit by suspending the show temporarily. But after left-wing outrage, the network quietly brought Kimmel back the following Tuesday.
Here’s the reality Harris won’t admit:
Kimmel’s suspension was a business decision, not a political one.
There is zero evidence Trump directed the FCC or anyone else to silence Kimmel.
FCC Chairman Brendan Carr issued a statement, not an order and even that came after public outrage, not before.
So why is Harris trying to spin this as Trump-led censorship? The answer is simple: she’s desperate. With President Trump surging in the polls and Biden’s approval tanking by the day, the Left is doing everything it can to paint Trump as a “threat to democracy” even if it means inventing fictional censorship campaigns.
Let’s also not forget: this is the same Kamala Harris who advocated for social media platforms to “do more” to silence so-called misinformation, a term that just so happened to apply to anything critical of her party. The irony is staggering.
And while Harris stood on stage invoking Kimmel’s suspension, she couldn’t resist one more jab at President Trump this time alluding to the 2026 midterms (yes, she's already skipping 2024).
“At a time such as this, it demands one thing for sure: we must fight fire with fire,” she told the crowd.
Translation? More division. More smears. More gaslighting from a party that hasn’t had a unifying message since before Biden took office.
Here’s a better idea: instead of fighting fire with fire, maybe it’s time to fight lies with truth. And the truth is, no one is trying to silence Jimmy Kimmel we just want him to stop pretending he's a comedian when he’s clearly just another DNC mouthpiece.
