Georgia Democrat Calls America ‘The Great Satan’ in Shocking Interview

Rep. Hank Johnson (D-GA) is once again making headlines for all the wrong reasons this time for referring to the United States as “the world’s number one bully” and “the Great Satan” during a recent interview, parroting the very language used by America’s enemies abroad.

Speaking with far-left radio host Dean Obeidallah, Johnson delivered an anti-American rant that sounded more like something from an Iranian Revolutionary Guard press release than from a sitting member of Congress.

“We are the world’s number one bully, and we are using our immense unrivaled power to rule over those who have less power,” Johnson said.

He then added: “This sends a shocking message to the world that America is indeed the what did they used to call it the great hand of Satan, or something like that.”

And finally: “America under the Trump regime is demonstrating that that moniker is entirely accurate. That’s what we’ve become in this country the great Satan.”

That’s right. A Democrat sitting in the U.S. Congress not an Iranian Ayatollah called America “the Great Satan.”

Let that sink in.

This is the same Hank Johnson who once warned that Guam might “tip over and capsize” if the U.S. deployed too many troops there. And yet somehow, this man continues to be elected by Democrats in Georgia’s 4th District and handed a platform to slander the country he’s sworn to serve.

Johnson's remarks come as President Donald Trump continues to rebuild America’s strength on the global stage, reestablishing deterrence, restoring military readiness, and confronting enemies like Iran and China all of which infuriates the left, who appear far more comfortable attacking their own country than holding adversaries accountable.

This isn’t just embarrassing it’s dangerous.

Here’s why Johnson’s words matter:

• “Great Satan” is a term coined by the Iranian regime to demonize the United States and justify terrorism.

• The phrase has been used to rally extremist factions against U.S. troops, diplomats, and allies abroad.

• When elected officials echo these slogans, it gives moral cover to enemies who want to destroy America from the outside and radicalize people within.

And yet Democrats remain silent.

Imagine the outcry if a Republican called any country “Satan,” let alone his own. But when a Democrat compares the United States under Trump to a demonic empire? Crickets.

This is the modern Democratic Party: America-bashing, race-baiting, and excuse-making for terrorists and tyrants. While Trump restores peace through strength, they undermine the very idea of American exceptionalism all while cashing a taxpayer-funded paycheck.

Rep. Johnson’s comments aren’t just a gaffe they’re a stain on Congress and an insult to every service member, veteran, and citizen who loves this country.

If Democrats had any integrity, they’d condemn this rhetoric immediately. But don’t hold your breath.
