Remains of Three More Individuals Handed Over by Hamas for Forensic Analysis

As Trump-backed ceasefire holds, Hamas continues to play games with Israeli hostage remains.

Hamas has returned the remains of three more individuals to Israel, claiming they belong to Israeli soldiers, in a chilling reminder of the barbaric tactics that continue even under a fragile ceasefire. The bodies were handed over to the Red Cross, which delivered them to Israel for forensic examination.

According to the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office, the remains are now undergoing testing at the Ministry of Health’s National Center for Forensic Medicine. “The effort to return our hostages is ongoing and will not cease until the last hostage is returned,” the statement read. Families of the hostages have been notified, and the public has been asked to respect their privacy.

This grim transfer comes on the heels of a similar delivery last week, when Hamas claimed to have turned over the bodies of three other hostages a claim proven false after forensic testing. None of the remains belonged to those still missing.

Under the Trump-brokered ceasefire agreement:

  • Israel agreed to withdraw forces from inner Gaza.

  • Hamas committed to returning 48 hostages 20 living, 28 dead.

  • So far, only 16 of the 28 bodies have been returned.

Hamas now claims it “needs time” to locate the remaining bodies, alleging that some were buried under rubble. Drone footage released last week captured Hamas militants digging up previously buried remains, sparking accusations that the group is deliberately manipulating the process.

This is a breach of the ceasefire agreement. Hamas is not only dragging its feet it is continuing to exploit hostage families, traumatize the Israeli public, and play political games with the dead. These are not the actions of a legitimate negotiating partner. They are the hallmarks of a terrorist organization using human remains as leverage.

Israel has responded to recent violations with targeted strikes after attacks from Gaza killed several Israeli soldiers, further testing the limits of the ceasefire.

Still, the Trump administration remains confident that its peace deal will endure. Vice President JD Vance addressed the issue last week, stating: “We know that Hamas, or somebody else within Gaza, attacked an IDF soldier. We expect the Israelis are going to respond, but I think the president’s peace is going to hold despite it.”

This is not the kind of “peace” that civilized nations should be forced to accept one where terrorists stall, lie, and toy with lives. But it's a fragile truce brokered by real leadership, and for now, it's holding. The message from the White House is clear: the U.S. stands with Israel, and Hamas will not be allowed to drag this process into the gutter without consequence.
