Memo Reveals Hamas Leader Ordered Attacks on Civilians During Oct. 7 Assault

A chilling six-page memo written by deceased Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar has been uncovered by Israeli forces confirming what many already knew the October 7 massacre was not a military operation gone wrong, but a premeditated attack on civilians.

The document, reportedly disseminated to Hamas commanders in August 2022, spells out clear instructions: target both Israeli soldiers and civilians and make sure the violence is shared worldwide to sow fear and chaos inside Israel.

The memo was found in a Hamas bunker after Israel successfully eliminated top terrorist Muhammed Sinwar in May 2025. Experts have verified the handwriting as Yahya Sinwar's, tying the orders directly to the terror mastermind himself.

The memo’s content is sickening:

• “Two or three operations, in which an entire neighborhood, kibbutz, or something similar will be burned, must be prepared.”

• Terrorists were directed to set homes ablaze using diesel or gasoline from tankers.

• Specific instructions were given to broadcast the atrocities in real-time to terrorize Israelis and destabilize the country psychologically.

Communications intercepted by Israeli intelligence on the day of the assault back up the memo’s intentions. In one such communication, a Gaza City battalion commander ordered his men:
“Start setting homes on fire... Burn, burn. I want the whole kibbutz to be in flames.”

There’s no spinning this. These weren’t accidents, nor were they “acts of resistance” as Hamas’s apologists in the media and academia would like to claim. This was terrorism in its most vile form, meticulously planned and openly encouraged by the group’s leadership.

Hamas has long tried to shift the narrative, insisting that their target was the Israeli military. But this memo erases any doubt: civilians were the goal. Women, children, entire families the strategy was to destroy communities, literally and figuratively, and to televise that destruction for maximum effect.

As the international left continues to romanticize Hamas and condemn Israel’s efforts to defend itself, facts like these are conveniently ignored. College campuses erupt in pro-Hamas demonstrations while this six-page death order barely makes a ripple in the media cycle. It's disgusting.

Let’s also not forget: over 1,200 Israelis were murdered on October 7, and hundreds more were taken hostage. It was the deadliest attack on Jews since the Holocaust, and yet half the world pretends the true villains are those trying to stop the slaughter.

This memo should be the final nail in the coffin of any argument that paints Hamas as a freedom-fighting group. They're not. They're a genocidal death cult, and this document is their confession.
