Hamas Agrees to Release 10 Hostages as Trump Pushes Ceasefire Deal

Terror group outlines demands as Israel and Trump remain firm on security and no concessions to Hamas.

In a rare shift, Hamas announced Wednesday that it plans to release 10 hostages as part of ongoing ceasefire negotiations but with strings attached and no clear timeline. The announcement comes amid intensifying talks brokered with U.S. support, as President Donald Trump works to secure a deal that prioritizes peace without rewarding terror.

Hamas, labeled a terrorist organization by the United States and Israel, claimed it is engaging "seriously and in a positive spirit" with mediators. But their demands tell a different story: a full Israeli withdrawal from Gaza, increased aid shipments, and a permanent ceasefire guarantee essentially, a roadmap to their own survival.

  • The terror group abducted around 250 people during the horrific October 7 attack on Israel that left 1,200 dead, including women and children.

  • The hostage release deal is still in flux, with no names, timeline, or verification yet provided.

  • U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff said negotiators had narrowed the issues from four to just one unresolved point earlier this week.

The situation remains tense but cautiously optimistic. President Trump stated Wednesday, “We want to have a ceasefire. We want to have peace. We want to get the hostages back. And I think we’re close to doing it.”

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who was in Washington this week to meet with Trump, made it clear: Israel won’t accept a deal that leaves Hamas standing.

"President Trump wants a deal, but not at any price. I want a deal, but not at any price," Netanyahu said. "Israel has security requirements and other requirements, and we’re working together to try to achieve it."

That security concern is non-negotiable. Israel's war aim since October has been the total dismantling of Hamas, not merely a pause in fighting. And any agreement that allows Hamas to remain in control of Gaza is essentially handing a win to a group that murdered innocent civilians in cold blood.

Despite media spin painting Hamas as a “negotiating partner,” the facts haven’t changed: they are still holding hostages, they still govern Gaza through terror, and they are still demanding concessions for crimes they refuse to answer for.

Meanwhile, Trump’s leadership is helping guide the negotiation process applying pressure where needed, standing firm on Israel’s security, and refusing to bend to globalist demands for a quick fix that would only embolden terrorists.

If this deal succeeds, it won’t be because Hamas had a change of heart it’ll be because America under Trump is once again standing strong behind its allies and refusing to reward evil.
