Grammy Awards See Ratings Drop While Raising Millions for Fire Relief
Ratings drop as celebrities turn the show into a platform for leftist activism.

The 67th Grammy Awards may have raised millions for fire relief in Southern California, but its ratings tell a different story viewers are tuning out. Once a night dedicated to celebrating musical excellence, the show has increasingly become a megaphone for political grandstanding, and audiences seem to have had enough.
According to Nielsen ratings, this year’s Grammys drew 15.4 million viewers, a significant drop from the 17 million who tuned in last year. While it was still among the most-watched Grammy broadcasts in recent years, the downward trend is hard to ignore. Before the pandemic in 2020, the show attracted 18.69 million viewers, highlighting a steady decline as Hollywood continues to alienate its audience.
Instead of simply honoring the best in music, the awards show was once again hijacked by leftist messaging:
Trevor Noah Takes a Shot at Trump–The host wasted no time making the night political, quipping, “I’m going to enjoy tonight because this may be the last time I get to host anything in this country.” Clearly, Trump’s return to the political stage has Hollywood nervous.
Shakira Pushes Immigration Agenda–The Latin pop star used her acceptance speech to pander to illegal immigrants, saying, “You are loved, you’re worth it, and I will always fight for you.”
DEI Takes Center Stage–Alicia Keys turned her award into a political statement, defending diversity, equity, and inclusion programs programs that Trump and many companies have been working to dismantle due to their divisive nature.
While the event did raise $9 million for fire relief efforts and MusiCares contributed $24 million in charitable giving, these efforts were overshadowed by the usual Hollywood virtue-signaling. Meanwhile, FireAid benefit concerts in Los Angeles brought in over $100 million proving that real charity doesn’t need a Grammy stage to succeed.
With the entertainment industry continuing to push woke narratives, it’s no wonder Americans are tuning out. Maybe the Grammys should focus on music rather than politics before they lose even more viewers next year.
