Newsom Falsely Claims He Called Biden in Response to California Fire Victim

California Governor Gavin Newsom was confronted by a distraught fire victim on Thursday, and his dishonesty was exposed in real-time. As devastating wildfires continue to consume thousands of structures, Newsom tried to claim he was on the phone with President Joe Biden but when asked to prove it, he completely fell apart.

The woman, who had just lost her daughter’s school to the fires, pleaded for answers:

“That was my daughter’s school, governor. Please tell me what you’re going to do.”

Newsom, clearly caught off guard, pointed at his phone and claimed he was talking to Biden.

“I am literally talking to the president right now.”

The woman, skeptical, called his bluff:

“Can I hear it? Because I don’t believe it!”

That’s when Newsom started stumbling over his words.

“I can’t–, it doesn’t–, uh, I’m sorry, there’s literally, I’ve tried five times,” he stammered, claiming he couldn’t get through due to bad cell service.

The woman pressed him further:

“Let’s get it. I want to be here when you call the president.”

Instead of proving he was telling the truth, Newsom refused, made excuses, and fled into his SUV while a staffer ran interference.

While over 170,000 Californians have been forced to flee their homes, Newsom is too busy dodging accountability to provide real answers. Fire hydrants in key areas have run dry, leaving firefighters helpless to contain the raging infernos. The Palisades Fire alone has torched over 17,000 acres, with several other blazes burning across Los Angeles County.

Yet Newsom, instead of taking responsibility, lied to a grieving citizen’s face and ran when confronted.

This is a governor who cares more about optics than action and once again, Californians are paying the price for his failures.
