Former Biden Aide Blasts Democrats for Defending Biden's Performance

Michael LaRosa Accuses White House of Gaslighting Over Biden's Debate Debacle.

A former Biden White House official, Michael LaRosa, expressed his frustration with Democrats defending President Joe Biden's recent debate performance and plummeting poll numbers. LaRosa, who previously served as press secretary to First Lady Jill Biden, took aim at former White House Communications Director Kate Bedingfield for her remarks on CNN's “State of the Union.”

During her appearance on the show, Bedingfield acknowledged that the debate was not Biden’s best moment but claimed, “The reality is that the race has not fundamentally changed.” She asserted that the data since Thursday's debate indicated that the head-to-head matchups had not shifted significantly.

  • LaRosa’s Outburst: LaRosa was not convinced by Bedingfield's reassurances and voiced his frustration on X. “The data!? If there is data that counters the impact of what we all saw then WHERE THE HELL IS IT??? WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU WAITING FOR?? SHOW US!” he demanded. He accused the White House of gaslighting and spinning the narrative, calling for transparency and real data to back up their claims.

  • Long-Standing Frustration: LaRosa continued his tirade, criticizing the administration for undermining public data and polling for the past year. “You’ve told us for A YEAR that data and polling can’t be trusted … no one is paying attention … and all of the polling and data are unreliable,” he said. “Are we NOW supposed to believe it? You’ve been undermining all of the public data and polling and attacking news outlets and their independent data for a year! Is it now safe to trust the data? Should we believe your data instead of independent media data and polling??? Ok, cool. WHERE THE HELL IS IT?”

The debate performance has left many Democrats divided, with some scrambling to defend Biden and others questioning his capability to continue seeking a second term. LaRosa's public outburst highlights the growing frustration within the party and the increasing pressure on Biden’s campaign to address these concerns transparently.

As the 2024 election looms, the Biden administration faces a critical test in maintaining party unity and restoring confidence among its supporters. The call for clarity and honesty about the president's performance and polling data underscores the urgency of the situation.
