Fetterman Says Israel Should Have Taken Out Iran’s Supreme Leader
As Trump keeps pressure on Tehran, Democrats like Fetterman break ranks to back direct strikes on Iran’s leadership.

In a striking moment of clarity from the Democratic side of the aisle, Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) declared that Israel “absolutely” should have taken out Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, as tensions between the two nations escalate into open warfare.
Speaking to Fox News’ “America’s Newsroom,” Fetterman was unequivocal: “Yeah, 100 percent… I think they should have targeted him. Absolutely gone and taken him out.”
This comes amid Israel’s aggressive military campaign against Iran’s nuclear and missile infrastructure, launched after intelligence confirmed Tehran was mere weeks from producing a nuclear weapon. The strikes have already eliminated key Iranian leaders and severely damaged its weapons programs. Iran, unsurprisingly, responded with missile attacks of its own, which were largely intercepted.
Fetterman, no stranger to backing Israel, praised the country's precision and resolve: “That’s magnificent… I don’t know why they would have left the leader out.”
Israel’s campaign has entered its fifth day, with over 1,100 military targets inside Iran struck.
Ayatollah Khamenei has long been the architect of Iran’s anti-Israel strategy, bankrolling terrorist proxies like Hezbollah and Hamas.
President Trump confirmed the U.S. knows Khamenei’s location but said, “We are not going to take him out (kill!), at least not for now.”
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu hasn’t ruled out targeting the Iranian Supreme Leader, suggesting regime change is on the table. That possibility seems more realistic by the day as Israeli jets dominate Iranian airspace and Tehran’s leadership is visibly shaken.
Trump has taken a measured but unmistakably firm approach, signaling that the U.S. is not actively involved yet but isn’t ruling it out either. “It’s possible we could get involved,” Trump said, adding that a ceasefire isn’t enough and that he’s looking for “something better.”
Let’s be clear: Iran has spent decades funding terror, violating nuclear agreements, and calling for the destruction of Israel. And now, as the regime reels under Israeli airstrikes, even Democrats like Fetterman are calling for decisive action.
The stakes are high, but so is the resolve. The era of appeasement is over.
