Fetterman Rejects ‘Nazi’ Smears, Praises Trump on Israel While Reaffirming Democrat Loyalty

Pennsylvania senator distances himself from far-left rhetoric, calls Palestinian statehood a “reward for Hamas.”

Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) is breaking ranks with the radical Left again this time denouncing the all-too-common practice of labeling political opponents as “Nazis” and “fascists,” while offering surprise praise for President Donald Trump’s support of Israel.

In a wide-ranging interview on Sunday Morning Futures with Fox News’ Maria Bartiromo, Fetterman made it clear that while he’s staying in the Democratic Party, he refuses to play the Left’s usual political smear games.

“If you want a Democrat that’s going to call people Nazis or fascists or all these kinds of things, well, I am not going to be that guy,” Fetterman said.

That kind of honesty is rare in today’s Democrat Party, where political opponents especially conservatives are routinely demonized as threats to democracy, racists, or worse. But Fetterman, who has emerged as an unexpected centrist voice, continues to distance himself from the ideological fringe.

“I’m not going to switch. I’m just going to be an independent voice in the Democratic Party,” he added. “I happen to believe the truth, regardless if it’s the Republican or the Democratic voice.”

Even more surprising, Fetterman praised President Trump’s unwavering support for Israel, while blasting U.S. allies pushing to recognize a Palestinian state as negotiations over Gaza continue.

“I was very pleased with [Trump’s] support for Israel,” he said, referencing Trump’s stance on Hamas and the October 7 massacre.
“Recognizing a Palestinian state now is a reward for Hamas... That’s going to be their narrative. They’re going to claim that’s why we did 10/7, that birthed our nation.”

That’s not just a rebuke of the Palestinian cause it’s a direct challenge to his own party’s growing pro-Hamas wing, which has seen members like Rep. Rashida Tlaib and Rep. Ilhan Omar rally behind anti-Israel protests, refuse to condemn terrorism, and push to defund Israel’s Iron Dome.

Fetterman, on the other hand, has stood unapologetically with Israel from day one and now, he’s drawing a hard line between supporting human rights and rewarding terrorism.

Fetterman’s remarks come as Congress hurtles toward a possible government shutdown ahead of the Sept. 30 deadline. Instead of joining in the partisan blame game, Fetterman criticized both parties for using shutdown threats as political tools:

“Efforts to shut down the government are always wrong,” he said bluntly.

It’s yet another example of Fetterman’s growing rift with party orthodoxy, even as he insists he won’t leave the Democratic Party. But let’s be honest—when your fellow Democrats are out defending Hamas, calling for open borders, and accusing Republicans of being Nazis, standing for truth, security, and decency makes you an outlier in today’s Democratic Party.

Whether or not Fetterman realizes it, he’s doing something few Democrats have the courage to do think for themselves.

And that’s making waves in Washington.
