FEMA Official Fabricated Threats to Keep Workers from Trump Homes, Report Finds

A former FEMA supervisor is facing serious consequences after the Office of Special Counsel (OSC) found she deliberately misled relief workers to skip over homes displaying support for Donald Trump. The complaint, filed Tuesday, exposes Marn’i Washington’s false claims about threats from Trump supporters, leading to over 20 homes being denied disaster relief in Lake Placid, Florida.

According to the OSC report, Washington’s directive to avoid homes with "Trump 2024" signs had no basis in actual safety concerns.

• The FEMA crew had not even begun canvassing the area when Washington issued her October 22 directive.

• No official reports ever documented any threats from Trump-supporting homeowners.

• Relief workers continued to follow the biased guidance for nearly a week before whistleblowers exposed the situation.

Despite repeated complaints from crew members, FEMA failed to take action until October 29. Washington was eventually demobilized on November 7 and fired two days later—just after The Daily Wire’s explosive report revealed the politically motivated discrimination.

Washington now faces two counts of violating the Hatch Act: one for engaging in political activity while on duty and another for using her authority to interfere with an election. The OSC’s complaint makes it clear this was not an innocent misunderstanding but a deliberate abuse of power to punish Trump supporters in need.

In a desperate attempt to justify her actions, Washington later claimed homes were only skipped if they had threatening signs. However, OSC attorneys found no evidence to support her excuse. “There were no reports in Highlands County of safety concerns at properties with Trump 2024 campaign signs,” OSC attorney Eric Johnson wrote in the complaint.

This disturbing case confirms what many Americans already suspect government agencies under Democratic leadership are being weaponized to target political opponents. The fact that emergency relief workers were directed to ignore storm victims simply because of their political beliefs is beyond disgraceful.
