Eric Trump Demands Secret Service Director's Resignation

Amid Security Failures, Eric Trump Demands Accountability from Secret Service Leadership.

In the wake of an assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump at a Pennsylvania rally, Eric Trump has called for the resignation of Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle. During a Sunday interview on Fox News, Eric Trump expressed his lack of confidence in Cheatle’s leadership following the security failure that nearly claimed his father's life.

“The director of the Secret Service should resign in absolute disgrace,” Eric Trump told “Sunday Morning Futures” host Maria Bartiromo. He accused Cheatle of misleading the public and suggested that Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas is attempting to obstruct a congressional inquiry into the attack.

One of the critical points Eric Trump disputed was Cheatle's assertion that the Secret Service did not place a unit on the rooftop from which the shooter fired due to its sloped surface. Eric Trump dismissed this claim, stating, “If there was any less grade on that roof, you would have birdbaths on the top of it, right?”

He added, “I don’t want to hear this, that the Secret Service sniper — and I know many of them, and they are the most in-shape, phenomenal people — couldn’t navigate that roof.”

The assassination attempt raised serious questions about how a 20-year-old Pennsylvania man named Thomas Matthew Crooks managed to access a nearby rooftop and begin shooting. Although former President Trump survived, a bullet grazed his right ear. Tragically, one rally-goer was killed, and two others were injured before a Secret Service sniper neutralized the shooter.

Investigations are underway, including a comprehensive inquiry by the GOP-led House, with a hearing scheduled for Monday featuring Secret Service Director Cheatle. Eric Trump criticized the administration's response, stating that allowing Cheatle to remain in her position “shows how disgraceful and inept” the Biden administration is.

“She should be out of a job,” he said. “They should put somebody in there that’s competent. The reality is, I don’t care. This is not a political issue. There’s no politics involved in this issue.”

Eric Trump highlighted the broader implications of the security breach, describing it as a “sign to the entire world of the weakness of America when something like this happens, and, God forbid, worse happened.”

Despite his harsh criticism of Cheatle, Eric Trump commended the Secret Service agents who protected his father during the attack, saying they “did their job, and they did it incredibly well.”

As the situation develops, the pressure mounts on Cheatle and Mayorkas to provide clear answers and ensure accountability for this alarming security lapse.
