In a striking political development, Elon Musk has committed to donating tens of millions of dollars monthly to a new super PAC backing former President Donald Trump. This bold move aims to bolster Trump's 2024 presidential campaign and counteract the Democrats' well-oiled voter mobilization machine.

• Staggering Contributions: According to The Wall Street Journal, Musk will contribute $45 million per month to America PAC. Other notable supporters include Palantir Technologies co-founder Joe Lonsdale, the Winklevoss twins, and former U.S. ambassador Kelly Craft and her husband, Joe Craft, CEO of Alliance Resource Partners.

• Strategic Focus: The super PAC will concentrate on registering voters, persuading constituents to vote early, and promoting mail-in ballots in crucial swing states. This strategy seeks to neutralize the Democrats' long-standing dominance in get-out-the-vote efforts.

• High-Profile Backers: Joe Lonsdale has been instrumental in rallying his network of influential entrepreneurs to support the PAC. Significant contributions include $1 million from Lonsdale's company, $1 million from SpaceX board director Antonio Gracias, $1 million from early PayPal executive Ken Howery, and $500,000 from Sequoia Capital investor Shaun Maguire.

Musk's endorsement of Trump came just after a 20-year-old assailant attempted to assassinate the former president at a rally in Pennsylvania. "I fully endorse President Trump and hope for his rapid recovery," Musk declared.

This endorsement follows another notable supporter's public backing. Hedge fund manager Bill Ackman, a friend of Musk, also endorsed Trump after the attack, tweeting, "I am going to formally endorse @realDonaldTrump. I came to this decision some time ago as many @X followers have already understood from my supportive posts of Trump and my criticisms of @POTUS Biden."
