Don Lemon May Face Federal Charges Over Minnesota Church Protest

Former CNN anchor Don Lemon could soon be in serious legal trouble. According to a top official at the Department of Justice, Lemon is now under scrutiny for his role in a disruptive and potentially criminal protest that targeted a Minnesota church on Sunday.

Assistant Attorney for Civil Rights Harmeet Dhillon revealed that the DOJ is weighing multiple charges, including possible violations of the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act and the Ku Klux Klan Act, against individuals involved in the protest including Lemon.

“I see various crimes that have occurred,” Dhillon told conservative commentator Benny Johnson on Monday. “Don Lemon himself has come out and said he knew exactly what was going to happen… He went into the facility, and then he began ‘committing journalism’ as if that’s a shield. It isn’t.”

• Protesters stormed a church sanctuary, screaming at worshipers and disrupting a religious service after learning that a pastor on staff worked for a local ICE office.

• Don Lemon was embedded with the protesters and admitted he had prior knowledge of the disruption, which Dhillon suggests makes him part of a criminal conspiracy.

• The DOJ may apply conspiracy charges under the KKK Act, which carries prison terms of more than 10 years, along with FACE Act violations, previously used by the Biden administration to prosecute peaceful pro-life demonstrators.

The FACE Act though originally designed to protect access to abortion facilities also covers places of religious worship. In this case, the protesters didn’t just demonstrate; they invaded a church during Sunday services, violating the rights of Americans to worship without harassment or intimidation.

Dhillon emphasized the seriousness of the potential prosecution:

“Come next Sunday, nobody should think… they’re going to get away with this. Everyone in the protest community needs to know the fullest force of the federal government is going to come down and put people away for a long, long time.”

This incident is especially revealing. The same federal laws that the Biden administration used to crush peaceful pro-life protests may now be turned on their allies in leftist activism. And Don Lemon once the face of elite media is now at the center of a criminal investigation for allegedly enabling and participating in this coordinated attack on religious liberty.

Lemon's fall from cable news grace has been steep, but if charges are brought, it could become catastrophic. It’s a stark reminder: no amount of celebrity or media protection should excuse behavior that tramples on the constitutional rights of others.
