DEI Power Struggle at DNC Could Oust David Hogg
Diversity politics collide as progressive infighting threatens to remove Hogg over a failed racial equity complaint and intra-party civil war.

The Democratic National Committee’s obsession with “diversity, equity, and inclusion” may be about to cannibalize one of its own rising stars anti-gun activist David Hogg. After winning the vice chair position earlier this year, Hogg now faces removal over a challenge filed by a failed opponent who claims the election wasn’t woke enough.
Kalyn Free, a Native American DNC member who lost to Hogg in February, is demanding the results be nullified, citing supposed violations of “fairness and gender diversity” requirements in the DNC Charter. She argues that electing Hogg over three women of color proves the process was discriminatory.
In response, the DNC will hold a virtual meeting on May 12 to decide whether Hogg should be booted and whether a new election should be held. In other words, another round of identity politics roulette, where merit and ideas take a back seat to skin color and gender checkboxes.
This internal meltdown is just the latest example of the Democratic Party being eaten alive by its own DEI Frankenstein. When even David Hogg a progressive poster boy and darling of the activist left is under threat for not fitting the current diversity quota, it’s clear the party has lost the plot.
But it gets worse for Hogg.
After winning his seat, the Parkland survivor ruffled feathers inside the DNC by announcing plans to funnel $20 million through his PAC, Leaders We Deserve, to target and primary incumbent Democrats. That set off alarm bells among party elders, including DNC Chairman Ken Martin, who warned Hogg that he was skating on thin ice.
“He’d be wise to leave the DNC if his intent was to attack incumbent Democrats,” Martin cautioned.
Legendary Democratic strategist James Carville didn’t hold back either, branding Hogg a “contemptible little twerp” and even floated the idea of suing him for working against his own party while holding an official leadership position.
“He’s being paid to run against other Democrats. I think it’s an outrage,” Carville fumed.
This is what happens when you build a political machine based not on principles, but on a constantly shifting game of victimhood hierarchy. The DNC is stuck between the rock of identity politics and the hard place of its own internal ambition wars. And the fallout is exactly what you'd expect: chaos.
Hogg may soon find out the hard way that in today’s Democratic Party, you're only as safe as your identity scorecard and even then, you better not challenge the system.
