RFK Jr. Receives Backing from 100 Detransitioners and Advocates for HHS

They say he’s the only nominee willing to fight for true informed consent in healthcare.

More than 100 detransitioners, activists, and health advocates have signed a letter backing Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as Secretary of Health and Human Services, arguing that he is the only candidate who will fight for true informed consent in healthcare.

The letter, directed to the United States Senate, highlights Kennedy’s history of standing up for patients who have been misled or harmed by the medical establishment. Signers include well-known detransitioners such as Chloe Cole, Laura Becker, Prisha Mosley, Abel Garcia, and Luka Hein, as well as concerned family members, activists against radical gender ideology, and even some members of the broader LGBTQ community.

  • Detransitioners have been ignored by the media and dismissed by activist groups like the Human Rights Campaign, which continue to push dangerous “gender-affirming care” as “life-saving” despite mounting evidence of long-term harm.

  • The letter warns that the healthcare system prioritizes pushing procedures over patient well-being, often using selective research and misinformation to justify unnecessary medical interventions.

  • Signers argue that Kennedy is the only nominee who won’t downplay the risks of radical medical treatments, including irreversible gender surgeries on young people.

“We trust in Robert F. Kennedy Jr. because he has risked losing his public reputation for parents who have sought his help,” the letter states. “We have witnessed the healthcare system threaten some of our parents, censor dissenting doctors, and manipulate consent for unnecessary procedures.”

Detransitioner Camille Kiefel emphasized that gender dysphoria is often linked to deeper mental health issues that are being ignored in favor of an immediate push for transition. “The first approach allopathic doctors are taking for gender dysphoria is transition,” she said, noting that a non-binary mastectomy did nothing to improve her mental health.

Kennedy’s confirmation hearing has yet to be scheduled, but it is expected to be contentious. While he has strong support from Republicans and medical freedom advocates, he faces opposition from pro-abortion Democrats and even some pro-life conservatives, who question his stance on abortion. However, Kennedy has personally assured Senator Josh Hawley (R-MO) that he will align with Trump’s pro-life priorities at HHS.

Diana Lufti, a healthcare policy consultant and organizer of the detransitioner letter, defended Kennedy’s record: “He has been attacked from all sides because he truly believes in the best of people especially those harmed by the system.”

The fight over HHS leadership is about more than just one nominee it’s about the future of medical ethics, informed consent, and whether Americans will be able to trust their own healthcare system. With Kennedy’s nomination, detransitioners and medical freedom advocates finally see a chance for real change.
