Democrats Walk Out As Cory Booker Melts Down Over Trump Judge Nominee

Senator Cory Booker’s dramatic meltdown during a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on Thursday revealed just how far Democrats will go to obstruct President Donald Trump’s judicial nominees. The hearing, which focused on the nomination of Emil Bove to the 3rd Circuit Court of Appeals, devolved into chaos as Booker launched into an emotional, eight-minute tirade, accusing Republican Chairman Chuck Grassley of violating Senate rules simply for moving the nomination forward.

Theatrics and political stunts are nothing new for Booker, but this time, even his colleagues followed his lead, staging a walkout in protest.

When Grassley called for a vote to advance Bove’s nomination, Booker erupted, yelling, “What are you afraid of even debating this? Putting things on the record, hearing from every Senator, dear God, that’s what our obligations are.” His voice cracked as he continued, “You could call me out of order, because this is out of order.”

Not long after, Democratic Senators Mazie Hirono (HI) and Alex Padilla (CA) walked out, calling the proceedings a “kangaroo court.” Booker soon joined them, declaring that Republicans were “violating the decency and the respect that we have for each other” by refusing to indulge his delay tactics.

Booker and his fellow Democrats have been on the attack against Bove since Trump nominated him. Their objections have nothing to do with Bove’s stellar qualifications but are rooted in partisan politics. Booker previously accused Bove of “hiding information” related to the Epstein files, and Democrats have also seized on unfounded whistleblower claims that Bove, while at the Department of Justice, suggested ignoring court orders regarding deportations of illegal aliens.

They’ve also criticized him for dropping federal charges against New York City Mayor Eric Adams a decision that followed standard legal reviews and for pursuing investigations related to January 6. In other words, Democrats are furious because Bove’s record doesn’t align with their leftist narrative.

Booker’s antics are nothing more than a smokescreen. Democrats fear Trump’s judicial appointments because these judges are committed to the Constitution, not the activist agenda of the Left. Since taking office, Trump has appointed judges who respect the rule of law, a stark contrast to Biden’s activist nominees who push woke ideology from the bench.

Consider this Trump’s judicial appointments helped secure over 230 federal court confirmations in his first term, reshaping the courts for a generation. This terrifies Democrats who rely on activist judges to push through policies they can’t get passed legislatively. Booker’s meltdown is just the latest sign of how desperate they’ve become.

“What are Republicans afraid of?” Booker posted later on X. The answer is simple nothing. Republicans are fulfilling their constitutional duty by confirming judges who will uphold the law. It’s the Democrats who are terrified of losing control over the courts, which is why they resort to tantrums and walkouts.

This stunt may play well on social media for Booker’s base, but for most Americans, it’s yet another reminder of why Democrats are unfit to lead. They’ve turned the Senate into a circus, prioritizing political theater over real governance.
